Pettway is just an old fashion hard nosed football player. He was also a good fullback,he could probably play a lot of positions and play them well.Glad he is on our team. That run last night when he ran over the arky player reminded me of Ronnie Brown running over Jason Allen from UT in 2004.

Yes, and a nice jump cut to get outside on his longer TD run. Not exactly shifty but he's got some moves.

Limited to TV coverage,

I was impressed by, on several camera cutaways, how

Mr. Jackson seemed to express some appreciation of Mr Pettway's efforts.

Bubba Pettway looks absolutely HUGE on the field with everyone else. He is a beast!!!!!  I wouldn't want to have to tackle him.

I'll be the first to admit that I under appreciated KP's rushing abilities before the season. Like another poster has said, KP cuts and slices a lot better than most RBs his size. I'll also admit that I was concerned about the RB position as a whole after JR was kicked off the team. I feel a lot better about that situation as well but still believe one more injury could really throttle back our offense. I'm hoping going forward that Kerryon and KP can really balance out the carries for the sake of staying fresh and preventing fatigue related injuries.

With that said, I now believe KP is our starting first down back. He will be the running back that hurts a lot of defensive linemen and linebackers egos by overpowering them, and then Kerryon will provide the demoralizing long runs while providing some relief to KP.

Even more impressive is 6 out of the top 15 are under Malzahns system

I think I count 7?

Also 2 are this year.

Also impressive is that it doesn't even include rushing yards by QBs.

Tate's first year wasn't under Malzahn but certainly did flourish under him

If anyone ever expresses doubts about AU as running back U....just hand them that list.  What a tremendous group of top quality RBs.

That's probably the first time I've seen all those guys on one list.....thanks Stat..

I am pretty sure that 2009 was under Gus, for Tate He was his first 1000 yard rusher at AU. WDE

Amazing what he's done as the 2nd best RB on the team. He and Kerryon might both go for 1,000, and Kerryon still has a lot of receptions yet to... receive.

Seeing as how this season is looking more and more like a 14 game season vs 13, it's very possible

How many yards does KP have on the season after Arkansas State?  Trying to track his yards to 1,000.

Is "Bubba" a nickname he commonly uses or is it more like James Joseph's "Bo Peep" nickname (i.e. fabricated to catch media attention)?

Not sure about KP, but I don't think James Joseph was fabricated. I lived in Columbus GA when he was in high school and seems like I remember that name before he went to AU.
