Stat... this proves what I've been sayin and thinkin for many years now. Coaches are the REAL professional scouts. They know how to evaluate and judge talent. So called gurus like Gump Davis and Jamie Newberg are wannabes... I bet they never even played one down of HS football. What makes so many people think they are even a little bit qualified to judge talent? It doesn't take much to know that someone played a good game... Its so much more than that.... but hey, they sure know how to sell mags! :big:

Yeah, I ran across that, too...gave me that same "sick to my stomach" feeling all over again.

I don't remember him playing much (if at all) in 1986, but I wonder if any thought was given to redshirting Reggie Slack that year.

He mopped up against a few of the directional schools. Looking back, it was a waste but at the time, I'm not sure the coaches were confident that he would become the starter. He was a 3-star player coming out of HS.
