Terri Williams-Flournoy will be at Auburn for the foreseeable future.

Auburn's contract with the head coach of the women's basketball team was extended through the 2019 season, according to a copy of the contract obtained by the Opelika-Auburn News through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Williams-Flournoy’s new contract took effect on June 1, 2016 and is worth a base pay of $250,000 and $350,000 receiving in endorsements, according to a university spokesman, bringing it to a total of $600,000 per year. Her original contract was at a base pay of $225,000 with $325,000 ($550,000).

Her original contract, which began when she was hired in 2012, was supposed to go through the end of this season, but the contract was restructured over the summer and extended to include this season and keep Williams-Flournoy on the Plains through the 2018-19 season.

Last year, Williams-Flournoy guided Auburn to its first NCAA Tournament since 2009. For the feat, she received a $20,000 bonus according to her original contract. Auburn finished last year with a 20-13 record.

Except for one season when the Tigers went 13-18, Williams-Flournoy’s teams have finished with at least 19 wins. This year, Auburn is 15-13 with two games left of the regular season. Her career record at Auburn is currently at 86-74.

Jay seems to have bad timing with a lot of contract extensions.

Guys read the article WT posted. The extension was given last June after Coach Flo had made progress with the team getting them in the NCAA tourney & getting a NCAA Tourney win. The timing of the extension was not bad. It's JJ's constant habit of keeping coach contract extension news tight lipped looking for the perfect timing to put the news out, expecting more success to come first, that continues to put egg on his face.
