Like Homer mentioned, civil rights activists were not promoting blackness, or encouraging more people to be black. It's interesting how words and definitions get misused twisted around and then the less perceptive people run around claiming s*** is really shinola. It happens with so many subjects, gun control, abortion, climate change, healthcare, Internet privacy, immigration.....etc. details matter unless you need them to not matter.
