This game was huge in setting us up for game 3 tonight. We absolutely WRECKED their depleted bullpen. Blood in the water, and our sharks better feast. We have a chance to tie up the lead in the SEC, and take a road series against a top 15 rpi team. War Eagle and let's get to work Tigers.

Holland runs from short to centerfield and makes a sliding over the shoulder catch to end the game!

Arky at least had a guy come in and eat up innings as we shellacked them on Friday.  Today They used up a bunch of arms in a double header.

if we get lucky we could have Mize go deep into second game.  Plus we still have a couple of our go to arms ... and Roberts for a few batters if necessary.  We pulled him late with a pinch hitter I think - of course announcers didn't point it out

you think so? IDK. Everyone knows the big boys do not really take seriously the mid week games and throw out some junk pitcher to start vs them. If AU takes 2 of 3 from miss st that will go a long way.

Here's the thing, if we take the series from State tonight, our RPI ends up around 21-22. Sweeping bama will actually make our RPI go down, to around 23-24. Beat LSU on the road we probably get to 18-19, beat ole miss we'll end up 16-17 going into the SEC tourny. Go 1-1 and we should stay pat and that should be good enough to get a host. Lose to LSU (1-2) and we stay in the low 20's and then beating ole miss probably bumps us up to at most 20. We would need to go deep in the tourny to get a host. There's too many good team's in our area of the country so we have to force the people who decide host sites to pick us. Other wise they'll take a similar record and slightly better RPI from a less represented area and give them a host.

No problem, those are some rough numbers. And since RPI is based on the rating of who you play and who they play, it can always change. Both Troy and Samford are now RPI top 100 teams, if they continue to win our loss to them isn't as bad. But if the teams we lost to continue to lose, like hooks they'll pull us down too.
