How are our trees doing?

From al.com article: Auburn professor of horticulture Dr. Gary Keever gave an update on the status of the trees at Toomer's corner, both of which were replaced three months ago.

"The trees have fully leafed out, the canopies are relatively full, both trees have good shoot extension, considering how short of time it has been since transplanting," Keever told AL.com on Friday. "They are being monitored almost daily for soil moisture content and thus far, we have not observed any signs of drought stress, but we also have not entered the hottest periods of the year yet. We'll continue to monitor the trees through the summer and fall and beyond, although the first year following transplanting is the most critical."

Keever said "no decision has been made regarding rolling" but he expects one soon..

Saw them today and they do look good right now.

It all depends on the care they get this summer since they need to develop their root system to (a) anchor in and (b) be able to support the water and nutritional requirements. Top growth as mentoned above it is at the expense of root development. Trees will need supplemental care for a 2- 3 years to become fully stable, so rolling this year would be not the best option.

ETA - Though both feeds are labeled as "live," Camera 2 seems to be ~ 25-sec ahead of Camera 1
