In this case, he might have been smarter than JJ in how he went about it...... he did not try to find some way to invoke the "for cause" excuse.....just paid him the money and told him to get lost. If they didn't get rid of him it would look like lack of institutional control and could even impact the football team. Heaven help a baseball coach that hurt the football program.
