ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. — Auburn has hired a second support staff member to help with recruiting and logistics off the field.

Stefan Schmidt, a former Texas personnel director, will join Auburn to help with its recruiting efforts behind closed doors as a player personnel assistant, Auburn Undercover has learned.

The move is the fourth change on Auburn’s administrative staff since Jamie Croley (director of football operations) and David Gunn (assistant athletics director for football) resigned in May.

Schmidt graduated from Alabama, where he worked as a recruiting and personnel assistant from 2010 through spring 2013. He also worked at Miami (recruiting and personnel assistant) and Wisconsin (assistant director of football operations) after graduation.

He worked at Texas from one year in 2013 as a member of the recruiting department’s quality control and was brought on board again by newly-hired coach Tom Herman as an assistant director of player personnel in April.
