Florida State received a significant boost this spring when Dameyune Craig joined the program as a Quality Control Specialist/Offensive Analyst.

Craig, a former quarterback for Jimbo Fisher at Auburn, previously coached at FSU (2011-12) as a quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator. He was a major reason why the Seminoles landed Jameis Winston out of Alabama and later had stops as an assistant at Auburn and LSU.

Craig’s agreement with FSU, obtained by Noles247 through a public records request to the university, is as an Other Personal Services employee. OPS is a designated position for “accomplishing short-term or intermittent tasks” according to the Florida Department of Management Services.

In his agreement with FSU, signed March 6 of this year, Craig will make $8.10 an hour (40 hours a week). The agreement ends June 30, which signifies the end of the fiscal year. Typically, these OPS agreements are re-applied to the next fiscal year.

Craig is owed $575,000 in 2017 from LSU as a buyout after he was fired from his role as a receivers coach/recruiting coordinator by new Tigers coach Ed Orgeron, according to The Advocate.

While he will be limited in what he can do as a recruiter -- Craig cannot recruit off-campus -- in his current capacity with FSU, he will still be able to devise game plans, work with quarterbacks and help with recruiting when prospects are on campus."

If he's being paid by the hour and at that rate he will be eligible for OT beyond 40 per week per the Fair Labor Standards Act I think it is.

If FSU does not keep his time correctly,  later on DC can sue them for back wages and penalties like the kids at Burger King do.

I wonder if DC's contract at LSU states that his payout is to be offset by any money he makes at his next gig. If so, this allows FSU to hire him on the cheap and he still get the bulk of his payout from LSU. AT $8.10/hr he will make about $17K at FSU so LSU would only have to pay him $558,000. Next year FSU can boost his pay or he can find another coaching position for more money.

He sure wants to stick LSU for all they owe him. I wonder if all the off-field analysts make that little. I doubt it.
