They got the furnace a little full hehe.  Ready to transfer to the holding furnace for casting the aluminum log billets.  Got the fireplace cranked up to be ready for winter if needed.  Groundhog that was caught at work.  Somebody took it home.  A few butterfly pics on the Zinnias before they died.  I may have shared some of these pics earlier.  Been a while since visited the page.

Got the Christmas lights up. Always

really cool to have folks walking by and tell us how happy they were to see us putting them back up. Pictures don't do them justice.

Nice.  This has been a weird year for us.  We've been adding as we go.  We've made a conscious effort to get more light this year.  Our small house decorations didn't work very well on our new house last year.

Stores have done a better job of managing inventory. No decorations left once Christmas ends for those big deals.

I had a buddy who went full Griswold years ago and that was his strategy. Do all the Christmas light shopping in January. Guessing that's not a thing anymore.

We're not there yet.

Wife controls my desire to Griswold lol.  I put them up and she decides if she likes it.  Made a few changes this year, but she seems more into getting some decorations to fill the void this year.

Christmas lighting is a huge thing for me.  It takes me about two weeks to set everything up.  What I do, and I might suggest for you is places like Home Depot Stock their Christmas decorations in late October/early November and they only stock once per year.  So once they are out, they are out.  I suggest to go at that time so you have the full selection to choose from.

In regard to things like pre-lit wreaths, garland, reindeer I recommend Christmas Lights, Etc.  This is the company that commercial decorators use.  They are more expensive, but their stuff is not fake-looking, and is built to last.  I do not buy the net lights and string lights from them though.  I buy those from Home Depot when they stock everything.  Lastly, I use wireless timers to ensure everything turns on at the exact same time.

Go LED too.  The technology has finally caught up to where they can mimic the aesthetic of incandescent lights and the prices have come down.  You can also connect up to 90 strings.  Just my two cents.

P.S. if you do use Christmas Lights, Etc. ignore their "40% off."  They do that year round.  The real sale is in September where it is an additional 15% off.

Here is what will likely be finished product, with the exception of replacing the light bulbs in the lamp post. The lights on the tree is the projected lights that are on many a house these days lol.  Really shows up better than I thought on a leafless tree.

I noticed that last night.  We had some heck of a wind come through with the front Sunday.  Actually put a 95 mph tornado on the ground near Stamping Ground Ky. Unwarned system.  Thanks for the notification.

Some Kentucky fall pictures.  Most of trees without leaves now.  Also a fuzzy caterpillar.  Could be in for a big winter. 🤔

The metal scrap pics are a crisp cool morning for physical inventory.  Caught the sunrise.

Those are Wholly Worms and are a big deal in North Carolina.  There is a festival around them and people raise them to race (no joke).  Here is what they turn into:

Concours d'Elegance

The long black boat is a legit rum runner built in 1920. Built to carry 3000 lbs of booze across the river to Canada. For real though Al Capone stuff.

Those open cockpit McLarens... I don't even wanna know.

And, yes, that's a jet powered car carved out of wood.

Just now seeing this.  You should have told me you were going.  My father is on the Board of the Concours.  I helped set up the sponsors this year as well.  He runs the entire thing.  We could have gotten you and your family VIP passes as our guest.  No hard feelings from our past.  You could have met some really famous people.  If you go next year let me know.  If you can drive stick we can probably even get you and your wife/children in one of the cars to drive.

There is a private event we could probably get you into with us that is sponsored by Gulfstream Jets.  They fly in vintage aircraft and pair each plane to a type of wine and classic car.  It’s a really nice dinner.
