With Pat Dye, we played Texas, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Florida State during the season. But since then, we've been playing teams like Alabama A&M, Samford, La.-Monroe, La. Tech, Tulane, UTC, Tennessee Tech,  soon to play Liberty, Mercer, Alabama State. I'm glad to see that we're starting to play better teams like Southern Miss, Washington, Oregon, Penn State and California. Hopefully it want won't be too long before we have Notre Dame for a home and home series.

While Dye was at Auburn, we also played Wake Forest, North Texas, Rutgers, Cincinnati, SW Louisiana, UT-Chatanooga, East Carolina, Kansas, Pacific, Georgia Southern, Cal St. Fullerton and Louisiana Tech.  Some of those more than once.

I realize you never read anything here, but please get a clue.   The teams we play non-conference now are no different than what we've always done.  Some rent a wins (like we did EVERY year under Dye) and some significant matchups EVERY YEAR.    You just continue remain CLUELESS about everything Auburn.

Also with Dye, we played Southern Cal.

That was a bowl game (1986) not a regular season game.   But, its not relevant because it has NOTHING to do with regular season scheduling.   Nice try but another FAIL.

If it hadn't been for the NCAA telling all teams to start scheduling at least 1 team from a power 5 conference, we wouldn't have scheduled Penn State, Cal, Oregon & Washington. Jacobs & Malzahn would keep scheduling lower class 1A teams and a lotmore 1AA teams. As for bowl games, Malzahn and Jacobs did not have to take the "great" Birmingham bowl against the mighty Memphis Tigers. At 6-6, we shouldn't have gone to any bowl game that year.

I know this is futile, but do you even football bro?  The NCAA has never mandated such a thing when it comes to scheduling.  That was and is an SEC rule.  Basically every major conference has adopted the rule, but it's for each of them to decide.

Also, from 2001 - 2009 we played USC (2x), West Virginia (2x), Georgia Tech (2x), Syracuse (2x), and South Florida (not a major conference, but they were good that year).  To say we would "keep scheduling lower class teams" is beyond stupid.

Well you can take UMASS off that list. We'll play them on Nov. 14, 2020. Also, it want be long before we're playing Georgia State and Kent State. So that will be 3 to be removed from the list. Maybe if things can be worked out to play Notre Dame.
