Pearl says Wiley suffered the injury vs Germany and played with it for the rest of the World Cup, not knowing it was a big deal.

He says he'd rather have Wiley on the floor for the 10 practices and four games but...

"He's going to take four to six weeks off, which I think in the long run will have him fresher for the season and give opportunity for other guys to play," Pearl said. "I'd rather have him healthy, but it's not the end of the world."

(Michael Niziolek also posted a photo gallery from practice and Wiley is in a boot but was still walking around and shooting free throws)

Horace Spencer and Chuma Okeke are also recovered/recovering well and will make the trip

AUBURN, Ala. — Horace Spencer and Chuma Okeke will make the trip to Italy with their teammates in August. The injured forwards are cleared to participate in overseas camp, a trip that the NCAA allows teams to take once every four years.

Both players were on the court at Auburn Arena's practice facility Monday for the first of three practices this week for the overseas trip.

Okeke's tryout with the USA Basketball U19 team was cut short with a leg injury, which was later diagnosed as a bone bruise. He left the training camp after making the first cut for tests back at Auburn. It didn't take long for Okeke to get back on the court.

"He's good, he's 100 percent," Pearl said. "He probably could have gone to Egypt and played. He would have had to take a week off. He took two weeks off."

Spencer, who missed the second half of last season with a shoulder injury, was back on the court with his teammates for the start of summer workouts in a limited capacity. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 4.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game as a sophomore.

Happened a while back but first I recall seeing about it...and something like this is only over i guess when a player is demonstrates he is 100%

From the 247 article on his injury

"Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said the injury was something that developed after the season, but isn't concerned about it being an issue on the team's upcoming trip to Italy.

"(We didn't release it) because it was in the spring and we weren’t doing a ton, but obviously he’s doing great," Pearl said."

Michael Niziolek also said in the comments of the article:

"Bit of a surprise for sure, but from a timing standpoint it could be worse. Neither offseason injury will cost either Heron or Wiley any games this season."

fingers crossed he's right on that. Hopefully we've gotten all of this out of the way.

Heron played in Italy so it is safe to say his stress fracture is healed.  Wiley's injury was announced about a month ago.  What is the normal time frame for healing an injury of this type? Can he do running in a swimming pool and or biking to keep cardio up while healing?
