3 Deep in Secondary?

Recommended Posts

Our recent departures and moves, along with some discussions early in camp has got me thinking.....

CB - C Davis, Dean, Broussard

CB - J Davis, Dinson, Askew

S - Matthews, Ruffin, Boston

S - Roberts, Thomas, J Smith

N - (Dinson, JD, Thomas - not sure on order yet)

We've got 6 or 7 good ones IMHO. 2 deep is very good at spots and decent at spots (Ruffin isn't where I'd like for him to be as a SR)

If we have to get into that 3rd string outside of mop-up duty, we could be in trouble!

Just my $.02. What are your thoughts?

If Dean can play CB opposite Carlton Davis, then I think Javaris moves to Nickel. I'd like that secondary A LOT!!!

I'm going back and forth on it...Dean's size would be great at nickel but then again Javaris' hitting power and instincts would be great there also. Either way I think we should be more than solid at those spots.

I agree, but as far as I know Dean hasn't practiced at N at all. So the first scenario seems more likely.

Correct, Dean only replying CB but Davis telling at both CB and N. So if Dean can win the starting job at CB that would move Davis to N.
