JaTarvious Whitlow has an ankle injury, according to coach Gus Malzahn, and could "possibly" be out for the Sept. 2 game with Georgia Southern. "He had that ankle issue this week; he's the only guy that might have a chance at not being ready for the first game," Malzahn said after Saturday's scrimmage, Auburn's second of fall camp. "Everybody else will be ready for the first game." All 3 QBs throw TDs in Auburn's second fall scrimmage All three quarterbacks threw touchdown passes during Auburn's second scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, which emphasized true freshmen as well as select veterans. Signed as a wide receiver, the 6-foot, 216-pound Whitlow moved to running back during the summer to give the position more depth. He was likely the sixth running back on the depth chart behind Kamryn Pettway, Kerryon Johnson, Malik Miller, Kam Martin and Devan Barrett. Whitlow was an all-purpose player for LaFayette High School, where he was a three-time All-State selection and earned Class 2A Back of the Year honors as a senior.
