Sounds like Panthers were sure they were going to sign Bridgewater when they told Cam he could look elsewhere now.

Such sneaky negotiations these NFL teams  use.

And people complain about the athletes making business decisions, and call them disloyal....

I think that pick 6 turned off the luster that he achieved in preseason. I don’t think they commit to him. I hope he challenges in training camp.

I'll never understand the inclination to write a guy off based on one play. Pulling him out of the game as a wake-up call, sure.

No they won't. Stidham will still be a backup. Pats will sign one of the FA QBs out there if they can (Bridgewater, etc..).

I don't see them relying on a 2nd year QB to get them to the playoffs again...

Not saying he’ll start. I’m just saying they are making fun of him

You’re original post made it sound like Pats are committing to Stidham (‘going in on..’).

This seems far fetched.

Several other guys are on it including Matthew Berry. May not happen but he’d have a ton of weapons: Evans, Godwin, Howard,... etc

They are really going in on him now

Was it the pick 6 that upset Belichick or the smile on the sidelines afterward? I know I should let that go but that image still bugs me.

I understood it the way @WFE12 meant it. "Going in on" is a fairly common term for mockery or a string of insults. Maybe more internet slang though since that kind of thing happens a lot more online?

I am a diehard Panthers fan and it was a little more than just that. Cam and the panthers couldn't come to an agreement on a long term deal per some of the best insiders on the Carolina huddle.  I am very active on that board and trust their info like a lot of you guys trust the insiders on this board. Once contract negotiations broke away of course they are going to plan B.

The teams he was best suited for all found new QBs already.

Maybe he'll finally get some protection and playmakers around him now.

Edit: Okay, one more besides CMac

Really a shame how Carolina handles their legends. Steve Smith, Julius Peppers, and now Cam. They’ve repaired relationships with the other two but idk how they could with Cam. Did so much with the little weapons and protection he had. He electrified that city.
