Auburn made sure there would be no offensive collapse during the second-half this week, scoring 28 points and gaining 239-yards during the third-quarter alone. The last time Auburn scored 28 points in one period against a SEC opponent was against Tennessee during the 2013 season. The offense was shaky during the first-half, scoring only 17 points off 288-yards of total offense. Auburn averaged just 4.07 yards per play on first down during the first-half but gained 12.9 yards per first-down snaps during the second-half. Jarrett Stidham was efficient for what he was asked to do as 16 of his 28 pass attempts were within 5-yards of the line of scrimmage. Auburn did not attack the middle of the field and only threw two passes within the 10-20 yard range downfield.

Auburn's starting defense allowed only 206-yards on 47 snaps, allowing only six points. Though the backups gave up 128-yards on 21 snaps, it was another great opportunity for Auburn to obtain valuable playing time against the Razorback's starting offense. Auburn had eight tackles for loss, while only allowing two to the Razorbacks. Auburn had 23 different defenders register at least one tackle against Arkansas. Auburn was able to turn all three forced-turnovers into touchdowns while allowing zero points on their two miscues. Dontavius Russell and Nick Coe both registered six tackles on the night, which is a good sign of Auburn's depth up front. Auburn recorded seven sacks on the night but gave one away after accepting a penalty.

Kamryn Pettway looked like the "2016" version, rushing for 90-yards on just 11 carries and three touchdowns. Auburn had five different players rush for at least 45-yards against Arkansas. Malik Willis threw his first touchdown pass of his career, with Devan Barrett doing the honors by recording his first touchdown as an Auburn Tiger. Darius Slayton recorded his first career 100-yard receiving performance with 146-yards tonight. Until this season, Ryan Davis has never been involved in an offensive snap of 30-yards or more. During the past three games, Davis has been involved in three plays of 52-yards or more. Last season through 13 games, Auburn totaled 33 plays of 30-yards or more on offense. Auburn has 27 such plays through 8 games.

Auburn now enters their bye-week, and it comes at an excellent time for the Tigers. Several key starters have been hobbled by injury, especially on the defensive side of the football. Auburn will need all hands on deck when they take to the road in two weeks to play an improving Texas A&M team. Auburn could have easily struggled Saturday tonight, considering the history of this game, the epic collapse the previous week against LSU and the Tigers' having several key players injured. Credit to the Auburn coaching staff for having the players ready to play on the road, coming off a painful loss the week before. They did not allow one loss to turn into a double. Gus Malzahn's Auburn Tigers are now 26-1 when leading by 10-points at halftime with an average score of 44-16.

We did what we should have done. Had this been the coaching mentality last week we would be heading into the bye week undefeated in the SEC and at least #7 in the nation. 

To credit the play calling this week it seemed we ran off tackle on first down as opposed to always straight up the gut.

I am concerned about the lack of intermediate passes.    We have to work on this.

Much better with the play calling this week.  Hopefully some folks will get well during the off week and give us some chance to beat A&M.

I think this horse has been beaten! Last night we had at least 3 - maybe 4 - pass plays (that I saw) where we had no check down. Only 3 deep routes and everyone else blocking. Even the SECN announcers picked up on this. I wish we would at least run one 10-15 yard in-route out of those 3. Maybe this is why I am not coaching. 

We have already seen what happens when you play 50/50 on every pass play with talented DBs. I do not expect anything more against Armani Watts and the bama DBs. Probably uga, but I just do not know enough about them yet.

One of the plays that stidham took a hard hit .. tv guys discussed him holding on to the ball too long ... there was a 12 yard crossing route that was open a count or 2 before he airmailed the ball.

i think gus has scared the crap out of him about turnovers and he isn’t throwing the smaller window balls.

there aren’t as many middle, midrange throws - but there are some.  Stidham isn’t throwing the few we have.

btw, a few other games they have been dropped
