I'm personally having a hard time grasping this. Unless it turns out that there is multiple evidence found of child pornography it could possibly be a situation where Brad took one joke/prank way too far and will pay dearly for it.

That was my thinking, although that is not a good situation either.  That would be counted as bullying and would guarantee he would never get another job in the school system.  I just don't know what he was thinking.  He is so much better than that.

There is no defense for having child porn... or children in compromised situations like a bathroom.  Joke or no joke.  That's one thing at least morally that everyone has agreed upon forever.  Even murderers and rapist look down on people who prey on children in anyway.

I hope it's not true but there's got to be a reason that the police were looking into his phone situation anyway.

If true he deserves every second he gets in prison.  However with only one count of possession and one count of possible distribution then he can probably plea out for some type probation.  Not that I would offer it if I were the prosecutor.

Agree. Not defending him at all. But that was my first thought knowing how Brad is....he took it too far this time. But we shall see b/c i'd still like more information.

The joke would need to be that he was trying to record an adult and a child unexpectedly entered. Not good whatever happens but hopefully not THIS bad.

Possibly but being that he works with kids (teenagers) i'm more inclined to think that they all were probably joking around and he did record the kid. And if the video got passed around to a parent...then that parent reported it. Something harmless in his mind turned into a criminal charge and will change his life forever. Again...just my theory IF this turns out to be an isolated incident. Still doesn't excuse him for not thinking and being the adult in the situation.

Even if he was trying to record an adult, that’s all sorts of fricked up and worthy of getting his butt beat and turned into the police station unconscious.

Lester came across as weird to me when I saw a thread on Lester trolling bama fans. Oh well, thanks Lester for delivering Derrick Brown to us ??

I was not excusing anything as normal. Just saying that is about the only thing I can imagine would make this less serious..

Hypothetically, it would make it a little less serious because most adults have the abilities to defend themselves if they catch the act unlike most of the kids, true. Either way, I’ve never heard of Brad Lester before. He means nothing to me.

It hasn't been that long since he played at Auburn, his senior year was 2008.

This was very surprising and difficult to hear about.  Like some others I'd like to know more details about exactly what happened here.  I'm inclined to think that it's a prank that went too far, but we're really just guessing at this point and it doesn't excuse the behavior.  I knew Brad during my time at Auburn and was very surprised to hear this news yesterday.  He was a bit of a prankster and loved to troll bama.  I know he had at least one child while he was at AU and I partied with him a couple times so I was shocked to hear that the video he possessed was of a male.  Very disappointed in him right now.

It’s a joke. I meant he’s dead to me regardless of whether he was attempting to video an adult or a child using the bathroom.

Even more bizarre

"Wesley Person, who online records listed as Lester’s attorney, declined to comment Wednesday."

not the same one but extra negative Auburn fodder for the updyke press this week.

no one wins in this situation. it is as ugly as it can get even if he is found to be not guilty.....it will always be there for the rest of his life. and of course auburn haters will use it to smear auburn for years to come. i have no use for peds but i will pray for them. too often those that exhibit this type of behavior have been abused themselves. if true i certainly hope he gets the help he needs and seeks it willingly. just my own personal thoughts and not giving him a pass if it seems like it.

He's an adult and made his own decisions.....and did not ask anyone from AU for permission.

I guess some haters can make something out of this but about every school has experienced situations where an athlete. (an usually multiples of them)  have committed some really serious crimes right up to murder.......so it takes a real "tool" to say anything about this case to AU people who have nothing to do with it.    They are out there of course but I would be inclined to roll my eyes and look at anyone who raised the issue to me as if he was a fool....and that includes our beat writers.

Like so many others on this board I hope, for Lester's sake, this is not true. A friend of mine is a retired cop from Detroit and years ago we were talking about a case involving a judge who was convicted trying to have sex with a child. My friend told me this former judge would do some HARD time, adding the cons may be scumbags but they got ethics

I would also like to hear more details before totally condemning Brad. I worked with a guy that was on the sex offender list because he gave some kid in a wedgie. That type of thing, when we were kids  in the 80's, was very common place and in no way a sex thing. Society has become a bit ridiculous in regard to some of these matters.

I am 99.999% positive there is more to that story. I remember a story in 2010 about "kids" doing the same thing and then some.

"They picked him up, ripped off his pants, ripped off his underwear. The more he fought, the worse it got," Ludwig said.

The three attackers - all juniors - dragged the freshman around the floor of the locker room and snapped pictures of him on a cell phone, Ludwig said.

Sure he wasn't one of these guys?
