Former Auburn quarterback Jeremy Johnson has signed with an American Arena League team.

Johnson, who threw for 2,224 yards with 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions with 210 rushing yards and nine scores in his Auburn career, agreed to terms with the Peach State Cats earlier this week.

Terms of the deal were not released by the club, which begins its eight-game season on March 24 against the Carolina Cowboys at the Dalton Convention Center.

The Montgomery native went 7-4 as a starter with 30 career appearances at Auburn. After going undrafted last year Johnson had a minicamp tryout with the New York Giants and trained to pursue a career in basketball overseas.

Johnson joined the coaching staff at Carver-Montgomery, his alma mater, last month.
