Depth charts don't mean much in spring practice. It is more about getting separation between the second and third string rather than the first and second string.

Think McClain is going to surprise this year. If Stidham has time to throw.

Seems like the only ones he'd be surprising would be his coaches. Most of us out here are waiting.

It's a projected depth chart that Crepea probably wrote, primarily, by taking last year's depth chart and moving everyone up into what ever empty spots were in front of them. I've never once felt like he actually researched anything he's written about the team, especially anything behind the scenes.

I hear ya. Check my first response.

(I do think Crepea does his research, but he never misses an opportunity to apply the That One Time at the Montgomery Quarterback Club filter.)

With Grimes coaching I would not be surprised to see Prince Sammons improve dramatically he has the tools just not the experience or the technique with Grimes as coach he will refine his technique.

Sad, but with the kind of talent we are recruiting on our defense, this kind of thing is going to happen every year. No one who could start for 80% of the teams out there wants to be warming the bench behind guys who are younger than they are.

Hope he lands somewhere good and makes a statement.

Figured that was coming.  He didn't see any action later in the season.  I asked several times if anyone knew what had happened to him and nobody had a clue.  I figured it was that he had been passed by.  So I would encourage players not to get the MVP award for the A-day game.  Seems like all of those guys are bust

Lol I think I would try to lay low in the game if I were him.

He knows how to lay low. Defenders laying low that is...

Once he's in uniform with his helmet on, he's going to look like Cam, and people are going have far higher expectations that they should for a freshman.

Cam took years to develop into the player we saw at Auburn. That's all I hope folks remember when they think of Gatewood. Cam was a sub-package guy who was glued to the bench for multiple years. Appeared in six games with 12 pass attempts and 21 rush attempts in his first two years. It will take time for Gatewood to develop.
