The two are expected to join forces again next week in Birmingham. Newton, the 2015 NFL MVP and starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the 11th annual American Values Luncheon, the largest fundraising event of the year for the Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of Alabama. The event is sccheduled for Friday, March 16, at the BJCC. Malzahn, entering his sixth season as Auburn's head coach, is expected to join Newton on-stage during the event and take questions from Boy Scouts, according to a news release about the event. Auburn is currently conducting spring practice, and Auburn's A-Day is set for April 7 and will be televised by the SEC Newtork. "Each year, thanks to our great guest speakers, we are able to raise critical funds which provide resources for the programs that make Scouting so valuable to our communities. I know everyone, but especially our Auburn supporters, will look forward to hearing Cam's message," Bill Morton, co-chair of the American Values Luncheon, said in the news release. Last year, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal served as the event's keynote speaker. Others who have spoken include Bo Jackson, Gene Stallings and Nick Saban. Tigers have beaten predictions in football, basketball, baseball of late Newton won the Heisman Trophy en route to the 2010 national title and is entering his eighth season as the Carolina Panthers' quarterback. He was the NFL Rookie of the Year in 2011 and MVP in 2015. The American Values Luncheon serves as a fundraiser for the youth and programs of the Birmingham-based Greater Alabama Council, Boy Scouts of America, which serves serves over 28,000 youth in 22 counties. The public may purchase tickets for the event. The per-seat cost is $325 and tables start at $2,500. Its is a tax-deductible gift.
