There is no way a two loss tOSU who got obliterated against an unranked Iowa team would get over a two loss AU team who only losses were to a playoff team in Clemson and another playoff team in UGA. Considering we had already beaten UGA as well.

I wouldnt take Auburn over OSU just being objective in that situation. Wisconsin was a very good team that OSU beat. OSU obliterated MSU, beat PSU, and blew out USC. Unless the playoffs were being played in Jordan Hare Stadium, they weren't worthy of a spot

That's what y'all have been saying at years. Well Gus has been AU's head coach for 5 years and we still don't have a national championship. Also, we've won 10+ games only twice times in his 5 years.

Dye was our coach for 12 years and we only won 10+ games 4 times and didn't have a national championship.

Heck, Jordan was our coach for 18 years after our first national championship and we only won 10+ games twice and didn't get another national championship.

Tubberville was our coach for 10 years and we only won 10+ games twice and didn't have a national championship.

How about you give up the Gus witch hunt for a few more months?

Gus actually has the same number of SEC (reg season) wins as Tubs did at this point in his time here.

Of course, in his sixth, seventh and eighth years, Tubs lost just three SEC games.

Of course in his 6th, 7th, and 8th years, bama wasn't half the team they are now. It'll be interesting to see what Gus can do in the next 3 years.

If you are asking how many out of conference losses we had, based on @AUwent, stat about conference losses, we lost 2 out of conference games, both in his 7th year (one being the bowl game against Wisconsin). Interestingly, the other was to Georgia Tech who was the only in-season OOC opponent we played who had a pulse those years. This was before scheduling one decent OOC opponent every year.

We did play a Pac-12 team in 2006 (Wazzu). They weren't very good (6-6 overall) but still.

As much as I hate to admit it, in 2004 and 5 we had some pretty forgiving schedules.

No to mention a fairly soft SEC

Of all the years the SEC could be crap, it had to be the year we had maybe our best team of all time and there were two other undefeated teams. Oh and screw you Tennessee for losing to a bad ND.

It is worth noting, of course, that we actually beat more teams even in the regular season that finished in the AP top 25 (#7 Georgia, #13 Tennessee x2 and #16 LSU) than USC (#9 Cal, #10 Virginia Tech and #19 Arizona State) and Oklahoma (#5 Texas and #18 Texas Tech) did.

Only tangentially topical, but

one house has tweaked the spread (+ 0.5 pt) for the opener, else

how could they announce it as an update?

"The sportsbook 5Dimes released updated odds on its biggest games to open the college football season recently. Auburn is a 4.5-point favorite against the Huskies, who return plenty of offensive firepower from last season's 10-win team from the Pac 12."

It’ll be interesting to see ESPN’s projected win loss total based off their formula.  It’s been pretty close every year.  The way things go with Gus’s teams Auburn will lose to UW and someone like Miss State only to win out get a bunch of NC love then lose first round of the playoffs to either Clemson or a team from outside the power 5.
