2019 3* CB Cordale Flott Flips to LSU

Trying to draw a line between "de-recruiting" and "dropping" is like trying to draw a line on fog. We've all seen Auburn do this before and more than once, it's nothing new. Whether Flott initiated this divorce or whether we lost interest is a question that probably won't be answered.

when it is all said and done, we will have a super class of DBs and will replace him with talent of better quality. With Sheffield on board and others likely to commit soon, we will not miss FLott. I hope he loves the smell of corndogs. He will get his fair share of them soon and very soon!

so weird ...if they felt it was mutual then might as well have pulled the offer and worked on given it to someone who desired it. Bad PR I am sure. Good luck to the young man:

It is also something for opposing coaches to use against us in the negative recruiting scheme.  “Auburn just ripped away a scholarship to a kid who really needed it, who says they wouldn’t do that to you.”

For the main conversation, I am also in party that we didn’t drop the guy.  If anything, just a mutual parting of ways.  Works out for everyone in the end.

Going to miss that size.

However bring on the next CB.

If it helps, Pritchett is listed at only an inch shorter, 5 lbs heavier, and is reportedly a sub-4.4 guy. Granted, we don't have Pritchett yet, but it's looking good.

Yep....I never quite understood this commitment in the first place but figured if the coaches wanted him there was more involved than we knew.   BUT.....not surprised or disappointed at this "decommit".....sounds like everyone benefitted from his change of schools.....so....movin' right along.....

The only thing I find disturbing about Flott's flip is that, once again, a Mobile area kid that we wanted, at least at some point, is going elsewhere. We've got major bleeding going on down there and we really, really need to get it stopped.

JMO but that is barely a trickle ….and not sure I can recall anyone lately who we really wanted and needed who got away.   Could be that the reason he got the offer was an effort by some AU coach to establish a beachhead down there....but and this is JMO...no point in wasting a valuable scholarship for that purpose.  Not sure that signing a marginal players is gonna make a difference when some 4* or 5* kid is involved.   That's when you need Whitt on the job....

I don't know if Flott is marginal or not. Maybe so, maybe not so marginal. LSU wants him. Commits from the Mobile area this cycle, from "Rivals Top 60 in Alabama": Al, Tenn, LSU, MSU and Memphis, one each. Two undecided, Auburn 0. The kid with bammer is one we certainly wanted. Don't know about the others but there are probably a few "takes" in there. There's a lot of anti-Auburn sentiment among the population down there and the best way to combat that is to start bringing in more players from the area. Tre Williams an D. Davis were a great start. However, after them, crickets.

really though, all of that black mass covering one of the dumbest coaches' noggin in the SEC is old Ed's crop.  I like Ed and find him amusing. I do think that Ed's tenure in Corndog Town may come to an end sooner than we would like. Anything less than 8-4 and maybe 7-5 with some close loses will find Ed in the unemployment line.  I would love nothing more than seeing him go 9-3 with losses to us and a few SEC teams allowing him to stay as the chief Corndog guru for years to come as long as they are filled with loses to us!

He reminds me of Goober in the Andy Griffith show. A Coon-ass version that is!
