NC State regional for us.  1st round vs Northeastern, who we took a series from earlier this season.

Paired up with UF regional.

Get out of Raleigh, and Florida is as beatable a 1-seed as there has been in a while. We took one from them and hung with them in that first game. It will help that we've played there already. Whatever happens, gotta get through Raleigh first. Time to attack.

One other thing.  All four SEC hosts are on one side of the bracket.  Possible for a mini SEC tournament in Omaha.

I was excited, hoping we would be at NC State til I saw Northeastern's name pop up. We bludgeoned their 2nd & 3rd best starters who they had been throwing 1 & 2 all season, but got shut down by their best starter Sean Mellen, who had been in the #3 spot all season for them before they moved him to #1 in their conference tourney. If we lose that game NC St has an easy path to Gainesville. If we win it then game on!

I remember that game well.  His breaking ball gave us fits all day.  Just don't like that rematch to start off, but it is what it is now.  To Raleigh!

Wow LSU cane into the aeries against us on the wrong side of the bubble, and two weeks later, they’re a 2 seed in Corvallis. Pretty saucy work by them in the tourney

I like our draw. Northeastern took it to us once, but we dominated the weekend up to that point, and I believe just couldn’t find the bats for some reason that night (probably Mellen, but we’ve seen him now). I expect they’ll throw him again, but the question becomes: who do we throw?

Burns who gave up only 2 runs against them, but since we were only able to score 1, took the loss, or Mize that still hasn’t given up a hit to these guys?

After winning 4 games in the SEC Tourney it would be hard to not have them be a 2 seed. Remember even though SEC Tourney games don't count to regular season standings they do count in the committes' eyes in overall conference record. They went 19-17 vs. the SEC. They went 5-5 vs SEC Teams that are host seeds. Add in Texas they were 7-6 vs. Region hosts.

Gotta throw Mize.  Very good shot we'll be in a pitcher's duel and you need your best on the mound.  Burns can beat NCST.

Agreed. If we get past those two it will come down to if Mitchell, Greenhill, and Daniel can give us enough juice to get us over the final game jump we were unable to get over last year. I think they can do it

Mellen is no joke. Don't be fooled. His ERA is in 2.28 & 2 runs better than their next best starter.

That is an interesting question now. We have lost 3 straight Casey starts now which I would have never believed. Tanner has outpitched him down the stretch. Also Mellen is the best starting pitcher on either Northeastern or NC State staff. NC State has 1 stud starter & you know they will probably save him for game 2.

If their stud is off a bit.

NOT TALLAHASSEE!!!

'Noles will still have to earn it, that's going to be one of, if not the, toughest regionals to get out of.

LSU drew a #2 and get to got to Corvallis, I really hope they stay hot.  Beavers gotta' be a little nervous...wonder if there will be any purple and gold in the Pacific northwest?

Greenville (ECU) regional will be a knock down drag out.

We drew about as favorable spot as we could have hoped for.

Hey Guys, I live in Wake Forest, and am trying to get tickets to the first regional game against Northeastern.  What is the best way to get tickets to regionals?  This is my first time trying to go to a regional.  Anybody have good luck getting single game tickets to an opposing regional site?  Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks!

I bought tickets for last year through Florida State's website.  They went fairly quickly too.  I'd check NC State's athletics site as they should be up shortly (if not already) I'd imagine

Per their website, if there are single game tickets available, they'll go on sale June 1 at 8am

Thanks.  Yeah I am afraid there will not be any single game tickets left.  Being that State is not playing maybe there will be.  That is the only game I will be able to attend with my schedule.  Thanks for your help, and if sold out maybe someone will be selling at the gate.

It's usually very easy to get into games where the home team isn't playing at a regional.

Good points.

Also, in those last 3 games Mize lost, he gave up 6, 4, and 4 runs. For a #2 or 3 starter thats pretty good, but for your Ace who was burning it up at the first to middle of the year, you hope he gives up no more than 1-3 runs around 7 innings. If he is locked in with another teams ace, then he is going to have to find that top pitching form he has shown for most of the year.
