Then if Thompson gets AU into the CWS in the near future, others with deep pockets will come calling too. AU can still pony up significant funds, so in both the short or long term, does Butch want to be at Auburn or somewhere else? That's a question only he can answer. That is the only question in my view.....If he wants to go, he can get the money.....if not, he will probably be well then care of here....JMO. aubearcat 2,131
I suppose it comes down to if he’s happy or not. Both schools are going to give him a trunk load of money and both are going to get high level players to compete at the highest level. Hopefully, he’s sold on AUburn. Agreed. Everything they hit is smashed. They don't hit many dribblers or pop ups. They drive everything. Their pitching and fielding is great also. I don't see how they aren't #1 seed. around4ever 4,139
Replay reviews are back in play for the Super Regionals. But the reviewable plays are very limited and will very seldom come in to play. Safe and out calls on bases are not reviewable. REVIEWABLE PLAYS Deciding if an apparent home run is fair or foul Whether a batted ball left the playing field for a HR or stayed in play Spectator-interference (only on plays involving HRs) If a batted ball that lands past first/third is fair or foul Catch or no catch in the outfield or foul territory (not in the infield unless it results in a third out)

doc4aday 1,887
I do not see Butch going anywhere any time soon. I think that MSU will hire Gary Henderson after the season as their HC. The man has done nothing short of a miracle at state considering what he was faced with. I would be surprised if state did not make Henderson their coach. If they make it to the CWS, there is no way they would not make Henderson their coach. If for some reason Henderson is not their new coach, look for Casey Dunn to be approached by MSU. He would be a great fit for state. I think we pay whatever we have to to keep Butch here and happy for a long time. Kentucky's HC could be a possibility for MSU if Henderson does not get hired. AUDub 10,994
State is a good ball team. Good third inning so far. Two runs in, two remain on. No outs. EDIT: and MacNamee crushes one to left. 7-2.
doc4aday 1,887
State looks good so far as they are pounding out hits in the bottom of the 3rd. 7-2 with no outs. State wins tonight, they will take game 2 in all likelihood. Pilkington probably will pitch the game 2 for state. That stupid bird whistle that Vandy has when they are batting is very irritating! Sorry Audub, I was typing as you were posting.

I think we and state are the hottest teams in the SEC this tourney so far. I think that state has the easier road to the CWS than we do. I am glad we are not using a stupid banana as a rallying point. I wonder if bammer would use a plastic turd as a rallying prop!

around4ever 4,139
Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi and Mississippi State are at a definite disadvantage when it comes to supplemental scholarship or grant money for the partial scholarship sports. All other schools are able to use lottery money and state taxed casino money to supplement partial scholarships.
