What’s the over/under on Willis passes?

Does Gus keeps starters in longer than normal to get reps before LSU?

Over/under on Cord snaps?

Not going to blast a neighbor too bad. But we still have some things to work on with regards to our running game. Both RBs and linemen. We don’t need to let up so much that we don’t improve.

Let's just be honest. Only thing that matters here is the half-time show!

Came in here to put something similar. Lol.

AU 45-6. Malik puts on a show in the second half and has 80 rushing yards and one long bomb to Schwartz.

I think we will focus on running the ball a lot in this game.  And youngsters will get a lot of quality playing time.  Therefore, our score won’t be as high.  However, our D is ridiculous and deep so they get nothing.  A key mistake by a back up DB gets them into the RZ, but they blow the opportunity.

AU - 48

ASU - 0

Auburn football: Zero chance Tigers have letdown vs. FCS opponent this week
by Rob Maxwell 1 hour ago

When the Auburn football team faces an FCS opponent, discussion should revolve around execution, getting players reps and staying healthy.
That’s certainly the case this week with Auburn facing Alabama State on Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

But there’s also those two ugly games in recent seasons against FCS teams that sneak into your thoughts. You don’t want to think about them. No one does. But they’re not going away and that’s probably a good thing. Those two games (2015 vs. Jacksonville State and 2017 vs. Mercer) serve as reminders that nothing is guaranteed.

In 2015 against Jacksonville State, Auburn scored with 39 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. The Tigers won in overtime, 27-20, but the damage was done. Jacksonville State had 28 first downs, outgained Auburn (438-401), ran 89 offensive plays and dominated time of possession (36:23 to 23:37).

Auburn followed that game with back-to-back SEC losses and four losses in five games.

The 24-10 victory against Mercer last season was different.

Auburn turned over the ball five times and missed a field goal. Jarrett Stidham threw for 364 yards and the team totaled 510, but the points weren’t there and it wasn’t until a Kam Pettway TD run with 4:50 left in the game to give Auburn a 24-10 lead that the game was securely in hand.

Gus Malzahn is aware of this trouble spot.

“There is no doubt,” said Malzahn on Tuesday when asked about Auburn’s not-so-great play in the past against FCS teams. “You’re exactly right. We don’t take anything for granted.”

That’s exactly how you want your coach and your seventh-ranked team to treat this game and every game.

And that’s when Malzahn added one more simple, but resounding comment:

“The good teams that have a chance to win a championship: don’t.”

He’s not saying Auburn is one of those teams. No, he’s not saying that — and he won’t.

But the message is clear: In a game where the Auburn football team will be heavily favored, results matter.

If Auburn wants to be seriously considered among the teams capable of winning a national title this season, it will assert its dominance in the first half.

Execution, getting players reps and staying healthy.

Auburn Football Focused On Cleaning Up the Run Game As They Prepare for Alabama State
THE TIGERS EXPRESSED THEIR EXCITEMENT IN TODAY'S PRESS CONFERENCE FOR THEIR FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON THIS SATURDAY
September 4, 2018  Brooke Kirchhofer
Right off the top in Auburn’s weekly press conference head coach Gus Malzahn announced that former Central Red devil John Broussard Jr. has left the team to pursue other things, but on a positive note wide outs Will Hastings and Eli Stove have been released to practice.

The passing game is not where Auburn’s focus is this week though.

Malzahn made it clear that the run game needs to improve this week as the Tigers prepare to take on Alabama State.

“I think we averaged 3.3 yards per carry and when we are at our best it is more than that and so we’ve got to do better in that, but at the same time the advantage we have is we played against a big time defensive front, so now we kind of know and we have some areas we can get better in,” says Auburn head football coach Gus Malzahn.

Junior Kam Martin led the way for the running back’s on Saturday, followed behind him was redshirt freshman JaTarvious Whitlow.

“Man, Boobie’s a baller. You know that was his first college game. He is just going to get better. I feel like both of us, we are going to be a great 1-2 punch. Boobie brings a lot of thunder and you know I feel like I’m going to bring a lot of lighting to the game,” says Auburn junior running back Kam Martin.

Malzahn also said we can expect to see some of those freshman getting more and more playing time as the season progresses.
