It's mostly pointless grandstanding and postering for future political positions. He'll be confirmed and all the screeching in the world can't stop it from happening. Personally I would have preferred Amy Coney Barrett; partially because it would have been awesome watching democrats figure out how to attack a woman (other than by sending terrible comedians to do an atrocious skit). Kavanaugh will be a very "vanilla" pick in my mind. Definitely not the "end of times" that a lot of the liberals are pretending he is. Let's face it, even they know this is a horse and pony show. If Trump is around long enough he might even get a 3rd nomination... The winner of all of this so far is Ben Sasse (NE) senator has been very well spoken and blunt about the foolishness of this process so far.
