MAKE AUBURN FOOTBALL FUN!!!!!!!!! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Bring home the Pirate. He wanted the job in 2008. It is a lot more desirable now with the talent on our team.

I've made it known that I'm not an Air-raid guy.  I much prefer a 2013 style O or 2010 balance (Cam notwithstanding).  But.....

Gus has recruited to set Mike Leach up perfectly with Bo Nix coming in and all these good, young receivers both on the team now and currently "committed".

If Auburn was to ever give Mike Leach and Air-Raid a go, it's now.  If he can bring in a great O-Line coach, I'd certainly get on board and give him a shot.

My dude, IDK if I can handle 1 more run first coach. If I was not born, bred and raised to love Auburn and I just viewed Auburn through the eyes of a fan of another team I doubt I would ever watch Auburn through the years outside the D Craig, Cam and Nick years. The teams I love to watch on the national stage as a casual observer are the ones who throw the ball all over the yard. Watching a Lincoln Riley offense is absolutely breathtaking. OKKKKKK enough with making this about me!!! lol BUT YES!! We really are set up perfectly with how we have recruited to run Mike Leach air raid system. That is so on the money 72. Now is this why Gus is probaly going to get fired this year or next because he recruited to the strengths of a system that is not anywhere close to his?! Yes! Just one of the many problems of the Gustav area. Can't be a run first play action team when you barely have 1 serviceable SEC RB and a sun belt conference offensive line.

I love Leach as an outside observer but the the Hal Mumme experiment has been tried in the SEC and had a losing record. I would not want Leach as Auburn's HFC

I was just telling my wife last night that I would love to play for a guy like Mike Leach. He doesn't take himself seriously and he's like the anti Saban, but he has such a high football intelligence that he makes it work.

I like Matt Campbell at Iowa State. No coach in recent memory has won at that school. Campbell is winning there. He is a young fiery coach who would be what the doctor ordered. Of course, Bill Clark & John Grass would be 2 coaches worth bringing aboard. Brent Venables & Dave Aranda are 2 DCs that are top notch candidates. Of the 2, Venables seems to have more experience and would make a super coach. Any of these men would suite me just fine.

@GwillMac6 is my bro and he knows this but this is one time we will have to disagree!

I don't want to deal with anymore coaches who's offensive systems are comprised of 6 plays and that's all they know. We can get a dangerous passing O in here without the Hal Mumme offense. I don't feel that confident that we won't see similar issues pop up under Leach's leadership in the SEC that we get from Gus.

Right now I'm at the point where I want the polar opposite from Gus in every possible way. Leach checks the boxes when it comes to being the anti-Gus from a personality standpoint,  but I think I'm over "system coaches" who are so entrenched in their system they can't see the forest for the trees. I totally get it though, on the surface he looks like everything Gus isn't and that's attractive as hell right now.

Don’t get me wrong. I would be ECSTATIC if we could land him. I think USCw is going to be making a call to him.

Shane Beamer is an interesting one. One to watch for sure.

Bird convinced me a month or so ago with an example of Beamer's experience.  Can't remember the thread.

Sorry mad chemo brain lately.

I'm sure I could Google it but I'm lazy right now.

What's his buyout?  AU would be responsible for both buyouts, I imagine...

If he's anything like his daddy, and I would assume he probably is, then his future is bright. That said, not everyone is cut out to be a head coach. One thing that plays heavy in his favor are his connections. All the places he's coached - and all the people he knows. He would be able to assemble a very good staff I would imagine.
