Big visitors weekend for Tigers

With Texas A&M coming to town, Auburn has a big recruiting weekend ahead. The Tigers will host three official visitors and several high-profile unofficials.

Here's a look at who we expect to be in town ...

***OFFICIAL VISITORS***

Nakobe Dean, LB, Horn Lake (Miss.): A 5-star backer, Dean has been one of Auburn's biggest targets throughout the entirety of this recruiting cycle. But he hasn't stepped foot on campus since earlier in the year and that certainly is a concern. That will change this weekend when Dean officially visits for the Texas A&M game. According to sources, Auburn is said to feel cautiously optimistic here. The Tigers think they are in this one more than people think and we agree. Still, it's an uphill fight. Two Auburn coaches watched Dean play earlier this fall. He wants to study engineering and a great focus will be on academics during his upcoming visit. We view Alabama as the favorite with Georgia next. Dean loved his first visit to Auburn. Can another good trip get the Tigers squarely into the hunt?

 

***OFFICIAL VISITORS***

Raydarious Jones, ATH/CB, Horn Lake (Miss.): A 4-star recruit, the 6-feet-2, 160-pound Jones is the No. 15 athlete for the state of Mississippi in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. He visited the Tigers earlier this year and is teammates with Dean. Ole Miss is another team to watch here. Jones is one of the most athletic recruits in the country. Where does he stand on the Auburn board? We should know more after this visit. The Tigers had two coaches at one of his games back in September.

 

***OFFICIAL VISITORS***

Jadon Haselwood, WR, Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove: The 5-star receiver recently de-committed from Georgia. Now, Miami is the favorite but the Tigers are very much alive it seems. Meantime, the word is the folks in Coral Gables, Fla., see Auburn as the 'Canes' biggest threat. Haselwood is tight both with Auburn receiver commit George Pickens and Auburn quarterback commit Bo Nix. Could that help Auburn? Well, it certainly won't hurt. Has Haselwood seen enough from the Auburn passing game to impress him? Is Georgia still in it? Time will tell. This will be his fifth known visit to Auburn this year. Also, he watched the Tigers play Washington in Week 1 in Atlanta.

 

 

***UNOFFICIAL VISITORS***

-Bo Nix, QB, Pinson Valley (Ala.): The 4-star recruit is a Tigers legacy. He committed to Auburn earlier this year and is recruiting hard for Gus Malzahn and the Tigers.

-Andy Boykin, DL, LaGrange (Ga.) Troup County: The 4-star 2020 recruit committed to Auburn last fall but backed off that pledge earlier this fall. Can Auburn get him back on board? The Tigers certainly would like to do so.

-Luke Deal, TE, Greenwood (S.C.) Emerald: The Auburn commit already has attended several Tigers games this season. He has been one of the most active recruiters among the Auburn commits.

-Tyler Fromm, TE, Warner Robins (Ga.): Fromm, younger brother to Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm, committed to Auburn back in May. He is coming off a shoulder injury and will play his first game of the season Friday night.

-DJ Uiagalelei, QB, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco: The 6-feet-4, 240-pound Uiagalelei is among Auburn’s top overall targets for 2020. He’s the No. 5 overall recruit nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. This season, Uiagalelei has completed 140 of 194 passes for 2,390 yards, 34 touchdowns and three interceptions for a nationally ranked team that is 10-0. Oregon and Clemson are thought to be the favorites at this time. This will be Uiagalelei's first trip to Auburn.

-Jamond Gordon, DE, Meridian (Miss.): The 3-star recruit committed to Auburn during the summer but has continued to flirt with Ole Miss. Auburn hopes to keep him in the class.

-Derick Hall, Buck LB, Gulfport (Miss.): Hall has Auburn in the lead with Mississippi State close behind. It's a two-team battle between those programs for the 4-star edge rusher and it still could go either way. Hall officially visited Auburn earlier this fall so it is big for the Tigers to get him back on campus, especially since he could be close to making a commitment decision.

-Jaren Handy, DE, Hattiesburg (Miss.): Handy is expected at the game, which would be big for the Tigers. He has attended one Auburn home game this season and the Tigers feel very good about keeping the top-100 recruit in the class. That said, he plans to officially visit Florida and possibly some other schools.

-Kobe Hudson, WR, LaGrange (Ga.) Troup County: Already selected to the 2020 All-American Bowl, Hudson committed to the Tigers earlier this year and seems to be fairly locked in with the Tigers. He's having a big junior season -- but at quaterback.

-Avery Jernigan, OG, Pierce County (Ga.): A 3-star 2020 recruit, Jernigan holds an Auburn offer. The Tigers are among his top schools. South Carolina is another program to watch. Jernigan already has attended multiple Auburn home games this season. The Tigers are in a good spot but it's early.

-Demouy Kennedy, LB, Theodore (Ala.): A 4-star 2020 recruit, Kennedy committed to Auburn during the summer. He's a high upside guy and is the No. 7 recruit in Alabama for the

-Octavius King, OG, Peach County (Ga.): Emerging 2020 talent.

-Damarjhe Lewis, DT, Griffin (Ga.): The 3-star 2020 recruit committed to Auburn last summer and is having a strong junior season.

-Tucker Melton, QB, Phenix City (Ala.) Central: The 2020 recruit already holds a 3-star rating.

-Julian Nixon, ATH/WR, Roswell (Ga.) Centennial: Nixon is the No. 9 overall recruit in the country for the 2021 class and very well could be a 5-star prospect before all is said and done. He is listed at 6-feet-4, 205 pounds. Right now, 247Sports rates Nixon as the No. 2 receiver in the country for his class. Most colleges consider him to be an elite prospect with an extremely high upside. He already has emerged as a major Auburn target.

-Nick Pendley, OT, Canton (Ga.) Creekview: The 6-feet-5, 290-pound Pendley has seen his stock rise and his offer list grow. He likely will be a Power 5 signee and Auburn is giving him a good look at a position of great need.

-Colby Wooden, DE, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer: Wooden is an Auburn commit who is playing very well his senior season. It wouldn't be a surprise to see him earn a 4-star rating at some point.

-Zykeivous Walker, LB, Schley County (Ga.): The No. 139 overall recruit nationally for 2020.

Surprise -- elite cornerback officially visiting Tigers

Auburn will have a surprise recruit on campus this weekend -- and it's a big one.

Tyrique Stevenson, a 4-star corner from Miami (Fla.) Southridge and a top-50 national recruit, is officially visiting the Tigers, he told Andrew Ivins of InsidetheU.com -- the Miami site for 247Sports. 

Stevenson has since Tweeted about his visit.

For Stevenson, we believe this will be his third visit to Auburn this year.

The 6-feet, 202-pound Stevenson is the No. 5 corner and No. 39 recruit nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite. Georgia is the 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite, followed by Miami.

Pappoe went to UT to see them play Charlotte instead of watching an SEC showdown in Auburn. That’s awful news! Instead of Pappoe pulling Wanya Morris to Auburn, Morris and Pruitt are pulling Pappoe to UT.

Agree.  He did tell Auburn coaches he would be in Auburn for the game (at least he was on the unofficial visitor list).  Hopefully he hold true to his commit.  But Jeremy Pruitt is one hell of a recruiter.

I hope Mr. 5* California liked what he saw today, nothing like the show we put on at J-H!

Cringed when i heard booing during game though (not talking about when "wounded" aggie flopped either). Harrell & other players are even starting to tweet about it. Booing is childish anyway but clueless when recruits are around. (Understanding it is just a small but vocal % of our fans).

Only real booing I heard was because of the refs calls. A lot of booing after a few of the really bad calls. Did not really see any that was directed toward AU. A few people close to me were ready to storm the field after the refs.

Booing on the 1st drive after we had 3 straight negative plays. Then again on the drive in the first quarter when we actually started to move the ball but stalled out and it was 4th and 1 and Gus punted from around the 45 - 50, but the Sippos put down inside the 5. Then a lot of boos on the many many many bad referee calls.

Morris is locked in with UT regardless. I still think Pappoe lands with AU albeit the UT visit today is an eye opener.

There was definite booing going on when M Willis got pulled out and Stidham put back in on 3rd down.

There was quite a bit of booing and leaving that was going on that was embarrassing.

That said, it was a pretty great atmosphere after we pulled one that one out of the fires.  Toomer's afterwards was quite busy as well.

Guess the question might be...are they booing the players, booing the coaches or just booing the overall situation?   .   BUT..."booing" goes on all day long on this site and others too.    It's not like the players and coaches are unaware of the negativism that flourishes over talk radio, the internet, etc...... so guess it's not surprising that some of those same attitudes might show up in the stadium.   People get frustrated I guess .....and I agree it's unseemly and not what we expect "Auburn People" to do.....but how can anyone be surprised?   

BUT....booing the refs......that was justified on more than one occasion..
