I don’t know where it went.  Speed was his calling card up until a year or so ago.  Saban among others complained the speed was dangerous to players health and asked the NCAA to change rules like the one that makes the offense wait for the defense if substitutions are made.  Gus usually likes to go fast after a first down especially but the lack of the running game has slowed the pace probably more than anything.

We've reached that point in the year where it's a waste of time to discuss stats because everyone has already picked a side and won't change their mind no matter what stares them in the face.  Two legs bad, Gus good.

Not trying to give you a hard time: so you’re saying our D is not as good as UAB, Fresno State, or Cincinnati? Do you see what I mean about these stats?

Nah, not taking it as a hard time.  I'm just comparing defense in relation to others and offense in relation to others.  You'd have to agree defense is better right?

I know it depends on who you play and circumstances, but just overall defense, no matter which stats you pull is gonna look better than offense.  Could they do better on 50/50 balls to receivers? Yes. I think Steele's deal is to not give up a big play and force offenses to earn points. JMO.

No offense, but stats tend to be meaningless in this rivalry. On the field play means everything and our whole O is not good enough. Just watching the games, the play calling and the execution says everything without a single stat needing to be mentioned. Just my opinion.

How do you go fast with no offensive line, an immobile QB and tailbacks that just aren't good enough against decent defenses. The team always seems ill prepared and clueless and that is easily traced back to coaching/game planning! We can all start new threads on this forum, but in the end, it comes back to coaching. Gus has has almost 6 years and it is not improving. There is zero consistency in the football program and as much as I love AU, they are difficult to watch.

Yes, I would agree the defense is better than the offense. Of course it wouldn’t take much. At the same time our defense has been gashed buy less talented teams, when it shouldn’t have happen. We have given up way to many third and long’s in games (LSU) I’m sure you can recall. Tenn gashing us for rushing yards up the middle, was completely inexcusable etc...

The offense has been downright embarrassing for most of the season.

We were barely man enough to beat southern miss. We barely got any push vs them. So no. No I do not think we are man enough to beat Georgia. This is the worst AU OL in my 29 years that I can remember and I bet it is one of the worst for AU all time.

I think the d played to their ability through the lsu game...I think the calls against us as well as offenses struggles to keep them off the field at some point made the defense temporarily give ... The they gave until the last ten minutes of ATM... So I feel the defense it's going to have their mojo back but if the offense can't do something and we look like e did last 4 games... It's going to be a long night

If Kirby is smart he will run JFields out and eat us up with an inside veer option and zone read scheme.... We can't stop running QBs as of late
