Somewhere far away in the warm sunshine

Jay Jacobs is laughing his butt off and enjoying his million dollar a year retirement. Jay told Gus after the 2016 season to fire his OC and hire a proven OC that would actually have unfettered control of the offense. Gus hired a yes man in Chip. Jacobs wanted badly to fire Gus but Gouge was on his way out and he didn’t want to be bothered with it. So Gus stayed. Then Leath was hired and he didn’t want to be bothered either and eventually forced Jay to retire. Gus and Sexton saw an opportunity with no AD and a president that had no conception of budget control ( see his mansion update cost) and AU with a chance to play in the SECCG and maybe the CFP, so they decided it was the perfect time to screw AU and did so. While JJ isn’t an all up and coming good guy in his own right he knew Gus cared more about himself than the team or AU. Now he can sit and enjoy Leath being fired ( hopefully for cause so he won’t collect a dime and never have another job anywhere close to this one) and Gus’s firing and AU having to pay a dear price for their stupidity.

No argument here but I thought the prevailing word was that Gus wanted the younger Briles and was told no. I’m asking not arguing.

Gus wanted someone who would act like they were in charge when they weren’t. No way Briles Jr was going to come in and just be a face.

This would make a great book.  How’d you get all that info on inside conversations?  Because it doesn’t match anything that was reported during those times by respected AU beat writers.

Not arguing but how do you factually know this....someone earlier said he wanted Briles Jr but was axed by the admin. So which is true?

Briles isn't coming here just to sit in on the final season of the 'Gus Malzahn Project'.   He'd be a fool.  He's interviewing for the Texas State HC job and will probably get it.

It is funny how a lot of anonymous sources on here report stuff like it is fact. Of course we are sheep and just lap it up. High drama and all.

This site is full of folks who will write or believe about any farfetched story that fits their personal narrative......hard to believe that most people on here are college grads.....and from Auburn no less....:-\
