We try our dangdest on turkey recipes year after year. But no matter what we can not make it taste better than a ham.

Warmed up turkey leftovers are awful. I had them for lunch after church and they were not good. The sweet potato casserole was delicious, though.

Davidson can't rush the passer. A run stopping DE isn't going high in the draft. Needs to stay and move inside or develop his pass rush skills.

Don't believe he'll go high. He's about a 3rd Rounder. And can definitely see him being moved inside. I see him leaving mostly because his DT teammates are gone. Same strategy as why we saw Stidham regress in losing his OL and RB.

Are you sure those have been updated? I think it is walter football or one of those that uses recruiting rankings to rank players waaaay too far in advance. They ranked Cowart as a Top 10 pick when he was a sophomore at Auburn. No joke.

I can't see Tega getting any scouting love. He is too raw. I could see an NFL team taking a flyer on Stidham in rounds 5-7.

Yes, the ones I was looking at were pretty recent. I dont even follow the NFL very closely, but I have learned that they place a premium on measurables. There aren’t that many left tackles with Tega’s size and athleticism. Of course, it is all subject to change based on the combine. History says there will be at least on AU player that drafts higher than we feel its warranted,  and at least 1-2 will leave early and end up undrafted.

I would think Devon Barrett and Cal Ashley would both be highly likely to transfer.

I expect two qbs to leave too. Stidham and one of Willis or Gatewood

Marlon probably thinks he's good enough to leave right now, but I think he'll probably realize that he needs to return once he gets his draft feed back from the nfl. There are just too many good DLs coming out this year and he'd be at the bottom of the list. At best 4th rd when he may be able to sneak into the first in the 2020 draft. Same for Coe

Dean probably wouldn't get drafted that highly. But this is technically his 4th year at AU and he's probably already graduated. Can't fault a guy for leaving if he already has his degree

Would be a real pity if Asa Martin leaves but I can understand if he did. Gus' stubborn ass antics would get real tired especially when he's not winning or producing any offense. Makes him look like a double idiot and I wouldn't want to play for that

To great the point across, maybe the fans should boycott Auburn and buy any tickets next. As for the players, they should boycott Gus and refuse to dress out on game days.

Those close to the program or with any knowledge, come forth. Otherwise, let's speculate. My guesses...

Stidham (Draft)

Kam Martin (Transfer)

Cannella (Transfer)

Asa Martin (Transfer)

Malik Willis (Transfer)

Derrick Brown (Draft)

Jamel Dean (Draft)

Others who I think are on the fence:

Davidson and Coe (Draft) - I think they need another yead so they'll stay. I am betting they saw what happened with Holland going undrafted and would be scared to jump early.

Javaris Davis (Draft) - I think he stays because he isn't a physical specimen. Hone your skills another year, get some hype, then go.

Jeremih Dinson (Draft) - virtually same as Javaris.

Joey Gatewood (Transfer) - has to be disappointed he didn't even get redshirt reps.

Everybody keeps saying our front seven and defense will be decimated this offseason. I don't see it. The D Line will be back and while #57 and #49 are big losses, Britt looks ready and T-Will will coach up a guy like McBryde or Wooten or McClain to be SEC caliber too.

I agree with every call you made, except for Asa Martin.  But I may very well be wrong on that one.

Malik Willis would be Auburn’s projected starter for next season as of today.  Kelly Bryant has not committed as of today and there is no guarantee that Bo Nix will come in and be ready to start a college football game come September.  Malik probably would have to change positions to play elsewhere at a major program.  Don’t know what upside would be if he left.

Derrick Brown is the only player I see getting drafted high.  I'm pretty sure hes gone with a baby on the way.  Marlon is one of my favorite players, but just didn't really have the year I thought he would.  Only thing he stood out to me on was the field goal blocks.

Stidham should go pro this year as its very weak draft year for QB.  Hes not getting drafted for his resume at this point, might as well go now.  Unless he transfers and has a Heisman contending year hes getting drafted on measurable and arm strength.

Nick Coe would be a top three round draft pick as well. Marlon is a 2-4 guy. I'm holding out hope both come back because that DL would be loaded with talent again next year. I want one season of four interchangeable pieces in the starting lineup. Coe/Davidson/Bryant/Newkirk or Miller. Bryant would have a add a pound or ten, but otherwise, they can all flex inside or out.

I expect Brown, Stidham, Dean, and probably Davidson to declare though. Neither Willis nor Gatewood will leave before spring. They'll both compete for the starting job. I don't know what Kam Martin will do, but for some reason, I don't actually think Asa will leave. We'll have a new OC or a new HC and OC. I suspect he'll come back and try to move up the depth chart with new coaches.

Ashley might transfer, but I'm not sure he's playing ball again. I think that's TBD. Barrett isn't leaving. He was getting reps at DB during the Liberty game. Dinson isn't going pro. He'll be next year. Same deal for Javaris Davis. He needs a year of good health. I could see a guy like Traivon Leonard transferring if he moves farther down the depth chart in spring. It would appear he's fallen behind Peters, Tutt, and McCreary at the moment.

Good commentary...but let me understand, ...guys who are not able to get playing time at AU....or not excel against SEC competition are gonna go pro?      I can see some of them moving to an easier level of football....Jax State has done well with former AU players.....but even the names mentioned.....if they are not playing, how much does it hurt?   :dunno:

I'm telling you guys, I just don't see many Defensive Ends who don't produce sacks getting drafted early. You have to be an absolute physical freak, pass rush specialist with running-back level agility and speed (like Clowney) to go early as a DE. Marlon is a DT playing end. He is very, very good but I don't think the pros will take him high. Same with Coe.

Remember, Lawson went in the 4th, Holland didn't go at all, and Lemonier went in the 3rd. Dee Ford went in the 1st round because he was fast, could play OLB, and was the best pass rusher of that bunch.

Davidson won't get drafted if he leaves this year for the draft. He's an out of position DE. He has to play DT in the NFL and that's not him. Holland couldn't even get drafted and he was a terror at DE. Please stop with the over evaluating of our talent. I think Nick Coe will ultimately make an amazing NFL DT but not at this point.  Hes too big for DE and too small for DT at this point but he has the frame to add the weight and could be a terror. As for transfers, hope they all stay but have to expect some. I really think Canella could be a terror on a team that actually throws to the TE. I hope Dean and Davis return as well as both could use another year. I think Gatewood is gone and Willis for sure if Kelly Bryant signs.

I think Coe could play defensive end at the next level. But he'll have to really become a technique-master. He has a very similar style of play to JJ Watt. Both are freaks of nature who rely on strength.

Good point....but it's just eager fans who over-evaluate the talent.    Of course guys have to make their own decisions but I think it is a shame for a guy to spend 3 or 4 years at AU, leave early or transfer looking for playing time at some other school and then end up with no degree, and no professional football career either.

Nick Coe is returning

Surprised this doesn’t have its own thread.  This is huge for the front 7.  Also some good news for this team.  Coe on one side and Big Cat, Moultry on the other wreaking havoc.  Coynis, Truesdell, Johnson up the middle.  Need to land some more interior guys in this recruiting class.

Probably people wanting to beat the Asa horse some more. I’m glad Coe will return. I think it’s the best decision for him.

Good news does not fit the rhetoric right now.  Thus the many pages on Asa vs this news.

Malik Willis (Transfer)

Why? No way Gus will start a true Freshman and Gatewood has not been developed at all. The job is his just has to stay.
