Were we not recruiting Watson and Harris too?

Not sure on Harris but when Watson got down to Texas & ND in his mind he didn't listen to any other schools. AU wanted him & tried hard.

@ellitor can we get a thread for 4* SDE Justin Eboigbe (I would make it but the ones you make look much nicer lol)? Keith just gave us a CB and it looks like we got another Georgia prospect in play!

My friend told me last week that he had pulled him to UT

Not a take for AU. He's Tennessee's if they want him. We are only taking 1 more WR & are being very selective there.

No. I've said before I'm done making threads. Someone else can start threads. To start them the way I want to takes me too much time.

Understood, I didn't know that was the case!

Thanks for the info on Keyton as well. I know it's still early but do we have any idea on the numbers we're aiming for by position? SIAP

It is early in the recruiting cycle but I like what I have seen so far. On Offense we have an Elite QB in Bo Nix and an Elite WR in George Pickens who are both recruiting strongly we have a GT OT that should help us this year and we have a Center that we are hoping we can develop and prove that we made the right choice. On Defense we have an Elite LB in Pappoe, an Elite CB in Simpson a solid CB in Flott and it appears we will have an elite Safety in Sheffeld very soon.

Pappoe like Nix and Pickens will be instrumental in helping us recruit. Not counting the GT of the 6 who have committed so far I feel safe in saying 4 will be starters for Auburn in the future Nix, Pickens, Pappoe, and Simpson as will Sheffeld after he signs with us. The other two will provide depth or become starers just depending on how they develop. On D we probably need 4-5 DB's we have 3 we probably need 3-4 LB's we have one but he is a stud, I want to see dome D-Linemen but we always seem to start slow with them and everybody myself included start doing the woe is me then Garner pulls it  off again. On O we probably want 2 QB's we have 1 and he is a stud same at WR, we probably need 1-2 TE/HB,  we need 2 RB's and 3-5 O-Line and we have 1.

I feel good with our DB recruiting so far especially with Woodson and Brown on the trail, I feel good about LB because T-Will is working and I feel Good about D-Line despite not having any commits as Garner is our recruiter.  We actually seem to have our sights set on a couple of elite RB's and we only need 1 more WR.  I never feel good about TE/HB recruiting as our recent body of work in utilizing the position hurts us but I am hoping. My one area of concern is in O-Line partly as it is an area of need, Grimes has been an adequate recruiter in the past but not a great Recruiter, and he just came aboard and is late getting started.

My big hope is the help we will get in recruiting from our current committed players the quality and leadership skills of these players makes me feel that we could have a great year as they push the Auburn narrative.

We got two studs las year and now OP this year so I would agree with adding maybe 2-3 more (at least one more ideally).

Feeling the same way here. Looking at our targets and who we're trending with; the interior doesn't look to be getting much help. However, like you mentioned, Garner always seems to handle things on his side.

This is the area we appear to be lagging in right now. WDE noted how we're in a uphill battle with the current group. Not a loaded OL class but I think the ball will start rolling with this as we get later on in the process.

RB I believe it has been said that we're only looking at taking 1 unless a stud is interested (Noah Cain or Trey Sanders). We're not leading for any stude back but Derrian Brown would be a fine addition. The herd is pretty full at the position right now and I don't think anyone is leaving early.

WR and QB we don't seem too interested in filling any other spots. We don't even have an offer out to any other QBs.

@Zeek " We got two studs las year and now OP this year so I would agree with adding maybe 2-3 more (at least one more ideally)." (LB's)

Joking aside, any year when we don't sign three quality LB prospects gets no better than a C minus at the position. Injuries, moves to other positions and plain old disappointments at LB make 3 a bare minimum. Right now, we are still feeding off the 5 Muschamp signed. Of those, Holland is gone, Colbert is gone and the rest will be seniors this year. Remember that zero remain from the 2016 class that followed. Three 4* or better will be needed to maintain.

I expect to have one of the best Big Cat Weekends that we've had since it's inception. I can't remember every having this many top guys already on board to handle the real recruiting during that event.

Do we expect to get any more commits between now and Big Cat Weekend?  If so, who do you think is a possibility?  Things are shaping up nicely.  Hoping BCW will add to the class as well.

4* ATH Jashawn Sheffield is likely to commit this week and who knows there might be a surprise commit. BCW might spawn a recruit.

Thanks for the info.  Living out of the country, good to have folks with better insight to shed light on what's happening.  Will be returning to the US this summer for college visits for our daughter.  One stop is AU in August.  I think its her top school at this point.

It's been about a year for me actually closely following recruiting. I love it. I wish I could have gone to AU. I'm sure she will fall in love with the Plains.

Same here, my parents went to Auburn but we lived in Florida when I was growing up. Out of state tuition is just too much.

I know I went to Auburn but my oldest son went to Arkansas because he got in-state tuition. My youngest is local in a Junior college but has had a couple of scholarship offers to play rugby if he keeps his grades up till fall of 2019.
