Your OP was not changed. It was quoted and added my opinion in bold & put FIFY in it. As long as people can read & comprehend at an elementary level they will know it doesn't look like you wrote something that you didn’t or even believe is true.

FWIW @toddc I would never edit yours or any person's original post to make it look like an opinion they do not have. The only reason I edit OPs are to add articles, article links, or remove anything in a post that would be not in line with AUF posting rules.

It happened to me a month ago and I left the board for a while and I just recently returned. I mistakenly thought it was happening again! Thanks for explaining.

When it happens PM a mod (or me if it was in the recruiting forum) to see what was up instead of leaving. There should be no other reason from us to edit actual posts than those I outlined above.

Gus was hired to run his own offense. An OC is hired to do what he's told to do. Did you watch Saturday's game? Fisher calls his own plays. Spurrier called his own plays. The best game-day coach we've ever had at Auburn was Terry Bowden and he called his own plays. I think Gus needs to take back his offense and do what he does best, which is run his offense. If whoever the OC is doesn't want to follow instructions, he's in the wrong place.

No. You didn't get what he and I are saying. Maybe I, at least, explained it poorly. The problem, which I see as unethical, is someone quoting you, changing the meaning of your post entirely without highlighting or otherwise indicating which part of your post they changed, and then below your quote putting the weak "FIFY".

Status Tracker: How firm are the Auburn commits?

Every week between now and the early signing period (which begins Dec. 20), Auburn Undercover will give a status report on each of the Tigers commits. Who's solid to Auburn? Who might not be? Who plans to take visits to other schools? Who doesn't? We'll update this based on all the current intel -- and by using our own intuition. We've put these recruits into four categoriess -- solid, medium, soft and de-commitment watch -- based on the information we have right now. Things change in a hurry, which is why we plan to update this weekly.

Solid: Doesn't appear to be looking around. May take an official visit to another school but there doesn't seem to be much concern from Auburn's end.

Medium: Seems to be at least moderately solid but is likely to officially visit elsewhere -- possibly even multiple schools -- and might not sign in December.

Soft: Flirting hard with at least one other school, enough so that one or more programs appear to be realistic destinations.

De-commitment watch: Auburn's odds of keeping this recruit in the class seems to be dropping with every passing day. Official visits to other schools are set up and either Auburn has lost its grip or the Tigers are moving in another direction.

***SOLID***

-Luke Deal, TE, Greenwood (S.C.) Emerald: A 3-star recruit in the industry generated 247Sports Composite, Deal seems to be solidly locked in with the Tigers. In fact, he told us even if Tigers coach Gus Malzahn wasn't at Auburn, he'd still want to go there because he loves the school so much. He's an early enrollee who has attended multiple Auburn games this season and is recruiting others hard. Deal has a real chance to push for playing time in Year 1. He's already 6-feet-5, 237 pounds.

-Tyler Fromm, TE, Warner Robins (Ga.): An All-American Bowl selections, Fromm committed to the Tigers last May and has not wavered. He's an early enrollee who is recovering from a shoulder injury. Fromm played his first game of the season last Friday night and had one catch for 8 yards (a one-handed grab).

***SOLID***

-Ja'Varrius Johnson, WR, Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.): Yes, Johnson has visited Alabama a few times but the Tide hasn't offered so for now, he's locked in with Auburn. What happens if the Tide offers? Auburn and Johnson would have to cross that bridge when it come. But he said last week he is extremely loyal to the Tigers, who offered him early. Johnson, who has more than 1,400 receiving yards this season (averaging more than 20 yards per catch) told Auburn Undercover he has some work to do in the class room, but said he is focused on achieving his academic goals after a slow start in high school. As for his 3-star ranting? Don't be surprised if that rises in the very near future after the season he has put together.

***SOLID***

-Keiondre Jones, OG, Hogansville (Ga.) Callaway: The 4-star lineman is one of the Tigers' top recruiters. He still talks to Florida and Mississippi State but appears to be fairly solid to Auburn and plans to sign in December -- and enroll early. Jones is an Under Armour All-American.

-Cam'Ron Kelly, Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith: Kelly was committed to Virginia Tech earlier this year, but backed off that pledge and committed to Auburn in August. The Tigers feel confident about keeping him in the class. Kelly is an early enrollee who is out of official visits. He is versatile enough to play corner or safety in college.

-Bo Nix, QB, Pinson Valley (Ala.): The touted quarterback probably is as firm to the Tigers as anyone on the commit list. An Auburn legacy (his dad played quarterback for the Tigers; his mom is an Auburn alum), Nix is an early enrollee who potentially could battle for the starting position in 2019.

***SOLID***

-Justin Osborne, OT, Flower Mound (Texas) Marcus: The 3-star tackle is an early enrollee who flipped from TCU to Auburn over the summer. Osborne left school in Florida in the summer and returned to Texas but the feeling is the Tigers are confident they will keep him on the commit list.

-Nehemiah Pritchett, CB, Jackson (Ala.): The 3-star recruit committed to Auburn this week over Nebraska, Virginia Tech and others. At this time, it seems unlikely he will officially visit any other schools. Pritchett is one of the fastest players on the Auburn commit list. Entering the state playoffs, he has recorded five interceptions.

***SOLID***

-Zion Puckett, DB, Griffin (Ga.) Spalding: A 4-star defensive back commitment, Puckett appears to be one of the most solid verbals in the 2019 Auburn class. Puckett, who committed ot Auburn during the summer, doesn't plan to officially visit any other programs. He will be an early enrollee.

-Jashawn Sheffield, ATH/DB, St. Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy: The 4-star athlete, who could play safety in college, continues to visit Auburn -- and recruit for the Tigers. But he potentially could add an official visit to Purdue to his schedule. That said, there is no reason at this time for Auburn to be worried.

***SOLID***

-Jaylin Simpson, DB, St. Simons Island (Ga.) Frederica Academy: What we said for Sheffield also applies with his teammate, Simpson. Simpson committed to Auburn early in the summer, has visited the Tigers many times since then and is an active recruiter for Auburn. South Carolina and Purdue continue to recruit him and a trip to Purdue is possible. 

-Colby Wooden, DE, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer: Wooden is a 3-star recruit who is having a big senior season and potentially could move up in the rankings. It would not be the least bit surprising if he earned a fourth star. Wooden looks locked in with the Tigers. He visited last weekend with his parents and they all stayed overnight. Wooden doesn't plan to visit other schools and is an early enrollee.

***MEDIUM***

-Jaren Handy, DE, Hattiesburg (Miss.): With Handy planning to officially visit other programs, you have to put him in this category -- even though he continues to say he's going to Auburn. He told us last week he doesn't plan to sign until February. Who are the teams to watch? Florida is one of them. Handy has said he will officially visit the Gators in December. Alabama could be another. Worth noting: According to our sources, the Tigers feel good about keeping Handy in the class. And he keeps assuring us Auburn is where he will land. Handy has attended two Auburn home games this season, including the one last weekend vs. Texas A&M. When Auburn athletics director Allen Greene said Tuesday that Tigers football coach Gus Malzahn would coach the team in 2019, that clearly helped with this recruitment. “I’m not going to lie," Handy told us. "If he leaves, I leave.”

***MEDIUM***

-George Pickens, WR, Hoover (Ala.): Why is Pickens, who has always said he is solid to Auburn, in this category? 1. He has taken numerous visits to other schools (he was at LSU last weekend) and 2. There is some chatter he isn't firm and 3. Some of the schools recruiting Pickens think he might be flippable. Why is he not in the "soft" category? 1. Pickens was in Auburn four weeks ago to help recruit running back target Noah Cain and 2. Some of the other commits just think he's enjoying his recruitment and 3. Pickens continues to say he is Auburn bound. We are watching this closely, however. He won't enroll early and it's not known if he plans to sign in December or February. Alabama, FSU and LSU all feel like they're in it. We've always thought the Tide would be the one to watch. Meantime, Auburn continues to feel good about holding onto the talented recruit.

***SOFT**

-Jamond Gordon, DE, Meridian (Miss.): Auburn continues to feel fairly good about keeping Gordon in the 2019 class, but he has taken multiple visits to Ole Miss this season. And remember, he once was committed to that school and calls Mississippi home. Gordon is not an early enrollee and may not sign until February. When you add all that up, it makes you wonder about how firm he is. But again, the Tigers don't seem to be overly worried at this time. This is more about us trying to read some tealaves. Auburn still has an official visit to use and that possibly could shore things up. Gordon attended his second Auburn home game of the season last weekend. He made the trip with Handy, who thinks Gordon will stick with the Tigers.

***SOFT**

-Owen Pappoe, LB, Grayson (Ga.): We moved Pappoe from "solid" down two categories since last week because of his recent flirtations with Tennessee. He chose to watch the Vols play Charlotte last weekend over Auburn-Texas A&M. Five-star teammate and Vols commit Wanya Morris is recruiting him hard to Tennessee. And apparently, Pappoe has made some friends on the team in Knoxville. Until recently, he had seemingly been rock solid to Auburn and was actively recruiting for the Tigers. At Auburn, the Tigers continue to like their chances — especially as long as Travis Williams is the linebackers coach. This one has gotten quite interesting. Pappoe plans to officially visit both programs in December. He's an early enrollee.

***DE-COMMIT WATCH***

-None: At this time, we can't point to one Auburn commit and say "He's definitely gone." This doesn't mean all 15 commits will end up in the class, just that no de-commitments seem imminent as we write this.

That's not an example of changing an original post which is what Todd & I were discussing. That's quoting a different post & inserting someone else's opinion in a way that it's easy for people to understand it's a different person's opinion, something every member can do as you just so astutely proved.

If you think things similar to my mis-quote of @cole256 aren't being done frequently you aren't spending enough time on the main football forum. Do you think what I did with Cole's post is ethical? My quote of him was obviously an exaggeration for the purpose of illustration, but there are things being done that are not so easily detected and are not done in good humor.

It's not just about recruiting,  it's about player development. Auburn is light years behind in both.  Auburn players put their pants on one leg at a time just like Georgia players.

Definitely but someone like Swift doesn’t even need development. He was good as a true freshman. Someone like Boobie or Shivers needs involvement

Its more of a mentality issue from what I see. We play soft. There's a problem when an AU fan envies a Purdue team steam rolling over OSU or a Syracuse team taking clemson down to the wire. I don't question anyone's personal manhood on our team but I do question our team's manhood as a whole

If we consistently recruit top 10-15 and develop them we are fine. The issue is that they will not be developed.

It looks like the problem is Gus takes best available instead of need. If you take need every year and develop those players you have a good base of roll players. Hopefully those will be best available guys but if they are not, you still can not get behind on your recruitment plan. May not win mythical recruitment awards but you do not find the shelf empty. Some of the boards recruiting gurus correct me if I am wrong.

As it pertains to recruiting,  I think the problem  isn't the recruiting itself but who we're re recruiting. Gus constantly stresses the need for a strong running game but ths the offensive line continues to be horrible year after year. If you need to run the football,  shouldn't the main focus in recruiting be on Running backs and offensive linemen?
