I know the thought that stars don't matter is a popular thought around this site. But in reality stars do matter. 

When you consider how many 3* or less recruits are in each class, and you look at the recruiting rankings of the players in this years super bowl, it tells another story.

Stars often don't matter in regard to any one individual. Diamonds in the rough exist. However, stars do matter a great deal when considering the entire class of +/- 25 prospects as a group.

Plus the data doesnt lie when you look at the National Champions each year....yes there are some minor exceptions...Auburn 2010...but even We had a top 10 class in 2007 and #6 class in 2010....so it speaks for itself when it comes to rankings as a whole class....yes on an individual basis there are 5 * busts and there are 2 and 3*  guys that become elite talents....but generally it is pretty accurate depiction of "potential"
