Baseball vs Cincinnati Game 2

Lefty Jack Owen on the hill to start the Saturday game.  If he ever gets any volume to the mustache he's going to be the spitting image of Dennis Eckersley...already has the flow coming out of the back of the hat.

Throwing nothing but strikes in the first inning and goes 1-2-3 with a fly ball out to the base of the monster on the second pitch.

He does look like Eckersley!  I was thinking that Jack-O looks all adult and grown up this season. Last year he looked so young ...like he was still in 7th grade.

Tigers get the first two aboard and threaten to leave them there, however Rankin Woley who is looking to be an RBI machine gets a clutch two out double to drive in Judd Ward.  We've got to get more production from the DH spot.

1-0 Auburn after one.

Cincinnati just doesn't appear to be a very good team.  Start the inning with a baserunner 180 feet from home and end the inning without moving him one inch.

Going to the bottom of the third still 1-0.

UC pitcher throwing a really effective change up and showing the fastball just enough to be pretty effective so far.  Auburn down in order in the bottom of the third.

Jeremy Johnson leads off the top of the fourth with a single, steals a base with two outs, but the Bearcats are completely unable to move runners with their bats so far.  Still 1-0 going to the bottom of the fourth.

For those who will freak out if Jacke Owen gets pulled a little earlier than their liking, I will point out that he threw over to first about 48 times trying to keep Johnson close...I'm a little fearful of what the league is going to do to us with the running game.  We appear to be defenseless against the stolen base to this point.

Offense is just completely off balance today, all credit to Nathan Kroger of Cincinnati.  Williams rips a top spin single and Rankin Woley promptly hits into the double play.

Kroger running out of gas, Tiger hitters sitting on the off speed stuff...UC going to the pen after Scheffler is hit by a pitch.  Runners on first and second with one out B7
