PowerOfDixieland 3,226
I did not realize games 2 and 3 were a Saturday double header. It's not easy to sweep a series that way...no matter who you're playing it's just hard to stay focused that long. Looks like Carson Skipper got some more OJT and got banged around a little. Elliott Anderson had another strong outing in relief and got the win and Brooks Fuller got the save. 11 strikeouts to 1 walk combined Rankin Woley added two more RBI and Ryan Bliss (that kid's going to be seriously good when he adds about fifteen more pounds of muscle) got his first dinger. Matt Scheffler showed he has excellent speed on the bases with a triple. And don't look now but here comes Steven Williams (check out the smart baserunning in the bottom of the first). Still trying to figure out where Will Holland left his bat.....
augolf1716 21,101
fyi against Cincy Auburn's starting pitchers struck out 29 batters and didn't issue a walk last weekend. As a staff, the team's 37 strikeouts were the most in a three-game series since 1997 and the two walks allowed were the fewest in a three-game series since 1995. That zero walks stat is one of the more amazing I've ever seen. Burn's 15k, 0BB work was a masterpiece. A total of two walks in a three game series is another thing that's seldom seen.
