My All-SEC ballot, order of finish, SEC champion

ByBRANDON MARCELLO

HOOVER, Alabama — The Southeastern Conference will release its first of two All-SEC lists Friday.

The media gets the first shot at naming players to an All-SEC team here at SEC Media Days, which concluded Thursday at the Wynfrey Hotel. Reporters were asked to file a ballot consisting of the best players at every position, including an all-purpose player, and also an order-of-finish for the SEC's Eastern and Western Division. Reporters were also asked to pick an SEC Championship Game winner.

The ballots will be tallied tonight and a final All-SEC team and order of selection will be released Friday morning. The popular pick to win the SEC will be Alabama, the reigning champion and winner of five of the last seven SEC titles.

After the media gets its turn at prognosticating, the coaches will release their All-SEC teams at some point before the season.

How will Auburn be represented on the final All-SEC teams released Friday? One can probably safely bet they will see defensive tackle Derrick Brown and potentially left tackle Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. on the All-SEC list.

As for me? I have five Auburn players on my ballot, though you must remember some positions required the media to select eight (!) players.

Until we see the final ballot Friday morning, here's how I voted and ranked players on the All-SEC team, along with my order of finish in the SEC.

I would've had Seth on there

That one stands out. Seth is an NFL wide receiver through and through.

I don't disagree with his picks. On a side note, it's crazy how Dan Mullen has gotten the most out of Franks. It's also probably a testament to how big of a wreck McElwain was.

I’m not worried about this.  Give players a chip on their shoulder and good things happen.  Just look at the lack of respect for the Auburn basketball team even after the SEC tournament and into the NCAA run.  If this offense comes out and balls out of control which it potentially could then you could see a lot more names on the list that matters in December.

Mullen is going to steal Kirby's cookie. I honestly think that UF is a beast as long as he's there, especially with FSU and Miami being down.

We should've beat LSU in 2012, 17, and 18, and maybe if we didnt have the worst possible first half in 13, maybe that game goes a different way. They got the close game advantage and the blowout advantage. Obviously we dont need to beat them to win when it matters but we cant keep eating Ls against them

Agreed. Mullen is a very good coach, and I think he will be in Florida for a long time.

The reality is, you gotta prove it on the field. Present tense - nobody on the Auburn O deserves a mention other than *MAYBE* Prince, and as for the rest of the team ---- beyond the DL, -------

PROVE IT!

Erroll Thompson another one of the Florence all stars that didn't get love from us when he was in high school. Best linebacker in the SEC
