What Can OL & DL Do To Get Better In Summer

In the summer I know there are no organized practices but players can work out on their own together. For QB's and receivers it is easy practice running routes together to get your timing and routes down.  Same for DB's practicing covering them.  What kind of things do O-Line and D-line do besides working out to get stronger and quicker.  I doubt if they are allowed to put on pads, so no hitting maybe just working on knowing playbook and technique.    Anybody know what kind of drills they could run on their own? Are they allowed to use School equipment like blocking dummies, sleds, etc?

After I submitted I realize this should be in Football thread not recruiting and maybe its own topic please feel free to move or delete if needed

D-line:

Hand fighting Hand fighting Hand fighting.

Work at adding new pass rush moves and perfecting the ones they do have.

Work on first step explosion in the pit

Change of direction

O-Line:

Pass blocking angles, drops, depth,  and setups.

Run blocking steps, angles, drive, dbl team body/head/positions, hand positions

Balance

Footwork

Initial punch

Hand fighting

Goodness, back in the day our old High School coach told us to watch what we eat and to lay off the coca-colas and smokes during the summer.. Mighty hard back then to stay away from mama's fried taters and cornbread! First day of fall practice he would make us run 2 miles first thing and would be right behind us yelling "sweat out them cokes and smokes!"...LOL!

I wish they all would have wrestled in high school...it would have helped them with most of the things in Bird's list, but especially the hand fighting.  Ask Nick Coe if wrestling helped him.

The S&C coach can have direct contact with players.  The players take full advantage of getting stronger and increasing endurance.

Lots of bench presses & squats.

Lots of stadium steps & marathons.

.....and Krav Maga.

So, OL has a similar set of drills to counter these counters?

Thanks Bird.

That's where proper footwork, body positioning, and maintaining balance come in.  If an OL is off balance then they can't effectively recover from moves as well.
