Here is the latest Auburn Tigers recruiting chatter ...

***

-An impressive group of visitors is expected at Auburn on Saturday (Complete list HERE) and that includes offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright of Selma (Ala.). The 6-feet-4, 320-pound Wright is rated as a tackle, but Auburn actually is recruiting him as a tackle/guard, meaning he could end up at either spot.

Now, for the scoop ...

Wright has told us for weeks two things ... 1. Auburn leads and 2. He doesn't plan to announce a commitment choice until signing day in December. While the former remains the same, the latter potentially could change we're told. In fact, sources tell us Wright actually could be close -- very close -- to having a decision.

With this new information, we're officially putting Wright on commit watch for the weekend.

For Auburn, this would be a big addition. Wright is only the No. 30 recruit in the state of Alabama for the industry generated 247Sports Composite but as we've reported for weeks the Tigers consider him a high-value player and he most definitely is a take.

Don't be surprised if Wright is on the Auburn commit list in the near future.

According to multiple sources, it is now believed 4-star running back Tank Bigsby of Hogansville (Ga.) Callaway ultimately will choose between Auburn and Georgia. We're told South Carolina has dropped off. Now, that said, it wasn't that long ago the Gamecocks were the team to beat. In other words, things can change fast with Bigsby. But for right now, we think it'll be Auburn or Georgia. While the Bulldogs seem to like their chances, those at Auburn think the Tigers have a shot. Apparently, Bigsby and his mother have gotten close with Auburn running backs coach Cadillac Williams in recent months and that hasn't hurt.

That said, you can't ignore the Bigsby-Georgia chatter. It's out there, for sure.

Bigsby visited Auburn four times in June and is expected back Saturday. It sounds as though he likely will stay overnight.

Who is Auburn's main competition for 4-star safety Ladarius Tennison of Rockledge (Fla.)? Depends on who you ask. Some think it's Florida. Some say it's Miami. Auburn, though, seems to be the one program that's always mentioned. He'll visit Saturday and we're told the Tigers staff likes where Auburn sits at this time. This would be his second known trip to Auburn this year.

***

With Auburn landing offensive tackle Kilian Zierer earlier this week, the assumption was the Tigers might be done taking junior college tackles (they have two committed). Not so fast. There's still a chance they could add another and Brenden Coffey of Butte College (Calif.) remains a major target. He is officially visiting Oregon this weekend and the Ducks are very much a contender. In fact, as we've reported before, they like their chances.

Some other junior college tackle targets of note: Brandon Coleman of Trinity Valley (Texas) and Tairiq Stewart of ASA College (New York).

Before Auburn would take another junior college tackle, the Tigers would want to make sure it wouldn't push away a current high school commit -- namely Javion Cohen, a player who the staff loves.

When all is said and done, Auburn could sign seven linemen -- if it's the right seven.

***

According to our sources, Auburn continues to be in a very good spot with 4-star tight end target Jeremiah Pegues of Oxford (Miss.). For now, though, he appears to be in no hurry to announce a commitment decision. Pegues plans to be back in Auburn again Saturday. He has visited the Tigers multiple times this year.

It wasn't that long ago many thought 4-star junior college cornerback Marco Domio of Blinn College (Texas) was an LSU lock. But there is a growing optimism at Auburn. First, he officially visited in June. Now, he's expected back on campus this weekend.

LSU has four defensive backs committed, one being 5-star corner Elias Ricks. Auburn has none. Also, according to a source, Auburn seems to be recruiting him more at corner than LSU.

Auburn seems to be trending up here. Something to follow.

***

Auburn also appears to be in it more for cornerback Brian George of Highland Community College (Kan.) than we thought. The No. 2 junior college corner will be back on campus Saturday. Miami is another team to watch here. Arkansas also. He's a Florida native.

***

Could Auburn still add a second quarterback to the 2020 class? It's possible, but as one source put it, the Tigers "won't just take anybody." Auburn didn't land Haynes King of Texas (he chose Texas A&M), but the Tigers continue to communicate with others, notably C.J. Stoud of Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.). It's not known yet if he'll visit. Stroud was very good at the Elite 11 finals this summer in Texas.

***

Who is one player Auburn thinks it has a realistic shot with that may not be generating a lot of buzz? We asked a source that question and were told, "Zykeivous Walker." He's the 4-star defensive end from Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County. Georgia is the team everyone else seems to be chasing. Walker also has touted his admiration of Florida. But a visit to Auburn on June 1 for Big Cat Weekend sort of got Auburn moving in the right direction and the Tigers now appear to be a real contender. Should 5-star end Jordan Burch of South Carolina pick Georgia, that very well could help Auburn with Walker.

***

Four-star defensive end BJ Ojulari of Marietta (Ga.) is not on the visitors list for Saturday at this time, but a source told us Friday they think the Tigers are a real factor in this recruitment and have a shot to land him. In fact, they may even lead, this person thought. He's certainly someone to track moving forward.

***

Does Auburn have a realistic chance to lance 4-star safety Chris Thompson Jr. of Duncanville (Texas), who announces Aug. 2? Yes. Texas is the clear favorite, but as we’ve noted recently the Longhorns are worried about one and only program. And that program is Auburn.

We checked with Thompson and he won’t be in Auburn this weekend. That said, he appears to be giving the Tigers a long look.

Would it be a mild surprise if he picked Auburn? Yes. Would it be a complete shock? No.

As of today, Auburn is likely to sign 24 to 26 in the 2020 class.

Is OG/OT James Robinson coming to the picnic?

He's not on the list I'm posting in a bit.

With the developments in the OP I think it's time to create some new recruit threads.
