So what comes of this? Is the source coming back or not? Just ban the guy causing the problems.

Apparently he came in really hard when Bo started having issues as some rabid defender. First making statements like "Gatewood will just transfer and to Arkansas State where he will be a running specialist, which in reality is where he needs to be."

And other things.

It was odd because I've never seen him. Normally people who start issues don't come in when things are going wrong with the season. I mean I'm one of those people that shows up moreso in turmoil because there is something to talk about and discuss. Otherwise I'm enjoying football, but he has came in extremely vitriolic for some odd reason.

Yeah an extremist to the max. It’s unfortunate that the OP let him get to him so much , especially someone who is clearly out of the loop. Hopefully, he comes back and share more valid tidbits.

Huh? We aren't talking about Bo. What we are actually talking about is the fact that some guy insulted JMR, who writes some very insightful and informative threads from the viewpoint of a coach. He said he had had enough and the person who was the jack*** succeeded in running him off the forum. Lots of us are pissed off, because the arguing over opinion, the personal insults, and the hijacking of threads for such purposes has gotten ridiculous.

Was that thread pruned or something? Seems like 1 negative comment (from a banned dude) towards him and 99 positive ones.

I don't think so. I only read the one comment too. I'm thinking the remark about not being an analyst was what did it. Sometimes it's just a bad day. Like I said earlier that was what prompted this thread. Disagreement is going to happen. Things get personal on here at times but I'm just going to end up repeating what's already been said by many. There's a right way and a wrong way to do things. JMR was on this morning so maybe he changed his mind.

Bet you wouldn't say that to the face of some of my other anonymous personas!

Might have just been a "straw breaking camels back" type thing then. I'm guessing from the layout and thoughtfulness of those posts he made that he put a decent bit of work probably watching and rewatching while note taking. Might have just been getting too old/bothersome for him to keep up with.

I've never seen anything more truthful posted here. It's especially true in the political forums.

So I guess if we are here to discuss the weather, it’s ok to rant and rave about how nice the sunshine feels, but let’s not mention anything when it rains or snows. I don’t think that would be much of an opinion board. I found in life that some days are good and some days are bad and I don’t have the luxury to only exist on the good days. In fact I’m glad when I have a bad day because that’s how I get better. I doubt I’ve every got better on a good day. My thought for those that oppose any negative though maybe you should take up being a monk in solitude. I’m always open to criticism and I actually look seriously at it to see if it can make me a better person. I hope all have a good weekend

There’s constructive criticism and then there’s mean-spirited criticism.  Some people don’t know the difference.  It’s not what your opinion is, it is how you say it.  To say “Bo sux” is not constructive, it’s mean-spirited.  And would go further in saying that to say that about the coach is mean-spirited, too.  Some would argue that he gets paid for it, but my beliefs say that you shouldn’t treat anyone that way, regardless. JMHO

@JMR is a throwback coach who IS an analytical expert in my book. He is an Auburn football letterman, also, in case someone here didn't know it. Above all, he is a military veteran (Vietnam) who deserves the utmost respect. I don't know him personally (though I feel like I do), but he has mine.

LOVE these kinda threads BTW.  Auburn football is nothing without it's history.  Kudos sir and War Eagle!

Then you should LOVE my .631 thread. It's chock full of history. ;D

Though most have said full of something else...:OnTheCan:

No I don't imagine jmr said anything bad at all he just did what his thread is titled and talked about what he saw. I went and looked and saw the troll's last post said just say blah blah blah and Bo sucks....he had been riled up on the subject of Bo.

Yes I can relate to all the other stuff you said. If you know football and talk about what you see it may not be the most popular view but what can you do? You can only talk about what you see. Sometimes if you see things before other people it makes other's mad

Most of us have been reading JR's TITIS for awhile. He doesn't insult or blame, he just calls it like it was.

I think JMR will come back. He can’t let one dude run him off. Put him on ignore, move on. JMR has a ton of respect and support on here but if you can’t take criticism or put up with snarky comments then you MUST use the ignore feature, let it ride, or leave the board...I hope he doesn’t choose the last option.

This guy called me 'stupid' just recently and I ain't mad...

Actually I did enjoy that info and have no problem with it.

I don't believe that we, as fans, should lower our hopes (and dare I say expectations) because of it, but knowing "where we come from" is good stuff.

I always appreciate people's research!

BTW, I'm glad to see you have a sense of humor about it.

It's not about lowering expectations, actually. I probably didn't articulate that well in the OP.

Well, maybe "lowering" them is not the best way I could say it.

Maybe more like we shouldn't not dare to hope for (or expect) more from our team.  Especially when the coach is being paid Nat'l Championship money.

But either way, regardless of whether one has realistic expectations based on past experience or wants to dream big, our history cannot be denied and frankly is a history that I'm proud of, personally.   But yes, I fall under those who expect this team to consistently lose no more than 3 games per year, with 4 being a rebuilding year.

Oh, me too. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing embarrassing or apologetic about Auburn's history. I'd say considering the machine we've had to fight during our history, Auburn has fared remarkably. However, I disagree with some of the heavy-handed demands that seem to be rampant. I'm all for changing the course for the better, though. Goes without saying.
