update resume and send FSU

Their only solution is to dump the entire roster and start over with 2* players who don’t have so much as a discipline referral in high school. The culture there is so jacked up and has been for decades. Most my Floridian friends refer to it as Talla-nasty for a reason.

The FSU Criminoles need a lot of help.

I played HS football at Lee HS, Montgomery. No real coaching experience except youth football. I was an AHSAA High School Football Official for 15 seasons and worked one Super 6. I am just an average fan with very little, if any, technical knowledge of the game I love so much.

So you could be an SEC referee.

Based on your post you clearly should send your resume to Steve Shaw.

Just make sure that in the Previous Experience section you just print "ROW TAHD" and you're a shoe in to call next year's Iron Bowl.

There is no way I would be linked to that rogue group. Seriously, I never had the time it takes to go to the next level of officiating.

Much respect for you for doing that job.

Mods...this may need moving. I would love to know who in "FamilyLand"...

1. Played football in high school?  Position? Years?

2. Played in college? Same? Same?

3. Played pro?

4. Has coached football at the high school or college level, and what position?

5. Is currently coaching football and where, if you can or care to share.

I have learned TONS from those who can say NO to each of the above. But I am curious as to who has or is a YES on any of them.

*Tora, wife of a 8th/9th grade TE who scored the first TD at Heritage High in Conyers, GA, late 70's...who, like countless of you, has taught me a lot as well. He teaches me the GAME. I teach him the "SITUATION." 😉🤗

1. MLB/FB. Every year

2. 1 semester. practicing all week to ride the bench made the Army look too tempting.

3. Haha, would've loved to be the next Sam Mills, but nope.

4. Small bit coaching LBs in high school, unpaid positions.

5. Not involved with local sports at all since moving.

I'll rarely give my "expert" opinion on anything, unless it's fundamentals with linebacker play. And even then I'm boo'd half the time

It was fun. In fact it was very rewarding and I wished I could have officiated longer. I worked the Umpire position and was blindsided by a linebacker in a 6A game.  My 40+ year old body at the time did not take it very well and after a couple of surgeries and much physical therapy, I decided to leave it to the young bucks. If I could, I would go back to it today in a heartbeat!

Played running back and DB in a small high school in northwest Florida and lettered 3 years. All-conf. senior year 1962.

Played guard on basketball team for and lettered 2 years. All-conf. senior year 1962.

Played outfield on baseball team for 2 years. (If you went out, you made the team).

Ran track on our first track team senior year.  Our relay team won 4th place at state.

After college, helped coach little league baseball team which had a future major league manager on it.

The Referee in my crew made it to the SEC. He worked it for many years and did a couple of Iron Bowls and an SEC Championship. He is still a friend of mine to this day.

Did I know that?  If not, CONGRATULATIONS to you and the Mrs. (Not in that order, of course!)  SO COOL!

I'm sorry, chemo brain is real....

Played football (DB and QB) -baseball (catcher) basketball (forward) through HS. Coached little league baseball-girls softball-13-14 yr boys basketball. Enjoyed coaching softball above all other. Coached my youngest daughter for five years.

You got me at softball. Played baseball through HS and was invited to walk on in college but didn't want to spend4 years in Livingston, Al. Pushed into coaching when my oldest was 5yo playing softball for the first time. Got stuck coaching basketball that year as well and stuck it out until we had someone that could help the girls more than me. Put in 11 years with softball I enjoyed every second. The HC was able to get the head of our organization who is also a college coach to take over our team so I got to retire last spring. I miss coaching but he definitely is better than we were and our daughters listen to him a lot better. I am hooked on softball now and enjoying getting to watch my daughter go through the recruiting thing.

Know it is an interesting job. Game over and those guys are out and on the road with a police escort before most folks out of their seats.

I think this is @ToraGirl's subtle way of putting many of us in our place.  😁

No, not at all. Honestly. I want to know what specifically I can ask of whom based upon your experience. My sarcasm moments are super rare...I am a Myers-Briggs NF, remember...😉...but I do think some who throw out the term "couch coaches" need to know whom they could be talking to, also. Respect. 💕

I understand that immediately after the game ends, they go straight to a conference room at the hotel sweating and nasty and get grilled for missed calls and other errors. You would think they would improve! :P
