I am going to say no, he will not be fired.  Also, who do you hire that will be willing to come there?

The Gus Apologists you refer to will have ZERO impact on any decision made in the coming weeks.

As far as the money being an issue this year several here claim the money is available. Well either it is or it isn't who are we to believe?

Wishful thinking on my part maybe but I am going to believe the money is there.  But I do not have any knowledge of this.

Why wait a day? Have an Uber ready to escort him from the stadium to the airport.

He won't be gone until whatever day in December his buyout drops again, at the earliest.

We will Have become the Vanderbilt of the West. We will start loosing big sport contracts and that loss of money will begin to effect our other sports that football revenue provides for. So my point is if your ok being the Vanderbilt of the West then go ahead and keep Gus .

Arkansas is already the Vanderbilt of the West.

Remember millionaires got a huge tax break, they have extra free money and tons more coming each year.

All it takes is 30 people to pony up $500k each and the upfront part of the buyout is covered.

Maybe we should have fired him after the LSU game an told him to find his own transportation similar to the way SC did to Kiffen.

Hypothetical questions on the contract for the next coach, whenever that may be: What are the chances that it would be less than what we’re currently paying Gus?...Has that ever happened at a school before?... Has AU painted itself into a corner permanently with this current contract?

His agent should strongly recommend that he doesn't move anywhere on his own accord.  Let him get fired and receive his ridiculously HUGE buyout.  Then he should easily get a mid-major job somewhere.  Maybe even Arky is still interested?  But he would be a fool to leave on his own.

The contract given to CGM is a joke. No way he did anything to earn that money or buyout.. having said that, it is where we are. Your question depends on who we hire.. if you go get a big time coach probably will have to pay him at least what CGM is making now, you go get an up and coming coach at a lower conference program, we will pay him less.. same if you hire an OC or DC from another school. We still have to deal with all the assistance coaches and their contracts as well depending on who is retained and who is let go.

It's gonna cost the same amount either way really. Just cut the cord. The man is unwilling to progress outside of his little box.

I agree completely that Gus should go. But realistically, if we do anything before bama game is over, who coaches the offense ?  He has nothing but yes men in the offensive side that can’t properly coach their position much less game plan an offense and call plays?  Certainly not Dillingham, Kodi or Carnell. Don’t you have to wait because of what he created on that side of the ball.

And how would that product be any different from what we saw yesterday?

I do not believe he is going anywhere. Not this year and probably not next year either.

I'd say the chances of him being fired this year aren't guaranteed, but if you think he isn't getting canned after next year, I'll have some of whatever you're smoking.

For all we know, Dillingham, Kodi, and Carnell might field a more effective offense with Gus out of the way.
