SEC Officials / lack of accountability

lost

Recommended Posts

After more glaring missed calls at critical moments by the SEC Officials that seemed to effect the outcome of games that included Ga, Bama , or Lsu ( the SEC hopefuls for the playoffs) it is apparent that something is amiss that can no longer be ignored or tolerated.  Now this post is opinion, so if you don't agree feel free not to.

After watching what i thought was foolishness at half time at the Harvard/Yale game ( the sit -in at midfield to protest climate change?), I rethought their actions.  They were escorted off 40 something minutes later and were allowed to go back to the stands ( though some chose to be arrested).  Now i feel strongly too about the subject, but the other way that they do-- but they felt so strongly to be arrested....

I said all that to say this.  IT is time the fans of the sec take the lack of integrity by the sec /ncaa in their own hands. The commissioner and ncaa have the coaches and schools handcuffed with threats of fines and suspensions.  We need to  stage a similar sit in at midfield, as boycott of games or such will hurt our universities and not the sec itself.  Maybe just the threat to do it will bring a response?  We know that Money corrupts and Money buys most all, but surely there are enough effected by the crookedness that can say enough is enough.  Call it fair and square.  Our conference is good enough to stand on it's own

It's more than obvious when you see it in certain games. There is NO WAY that the cheating refs didn't see all of the holding in the AU/LSU game and the one sided way that our game was called with LSU last year. There were several uncalled penalties(PI, Facemask, etc.)in the THUGA/A&M game. Is Muschump the only coach to publicly call it out this year?

While I do not advocate doing this, I do think it would be absolutely hilarious if all of the protesters brought yellow ref flags with them and every time one of the cops grabbed someone they would throw the flag. "SEE SEC, THIS IS HOW YOU CALL HOLDING!"

You may be on to something. Everybody can bring their own yellow flag and wave from the stands at the ignored penalties. Maybe that will shame them

It happens every year and has for awhile, though they are getting more and more blatant with it. (easier to say a ref missed a PI call than to say he missed a OL straight up tackling a DL)

People get angry when I bring this up, but they did it for Auburn too when we became the favorites for a natty. I figure it's being put down to them in one way or another to make sure the SEC has a viable NC contender.

uat runs a pick on basically every pass play. Refs look away.

to make sure the SEC has 2 viable NC contenders.....watching UGA last night I think LSU will handle them easily which would take the dawgs out of the picture   SO...that leaves bama as the SEC home office favorite to get a second team.....and to accomplish that AU must not win.      I will be AMAZED if the refs call anything even remotely like an honest game.

On 3rd & 11 at the GA 43, A&M's last drive hoping to take the lead, a GA defender literally held the TE the ENTIRE route with BOTH hands...no flag.

SEC refs have refused to call holding this season. It's as if it's now allowed.

Agree.. they favor the favorites ... I do not think I have seen more egregious holding than in the LSU game.. they were literally watching DB, Big Cat, and MD getting tackled on almost every play.

😁  Saw them call it twice on bama yesterday ….when tide was up by about 55 or something and it did not matter....but later when you look at the stats they have 45 yards in penalties, more than poor WCU....and it looks reasonable.      It's when you call the penalty more than what the call is.   Nothing can screw an opponent better than a few well timed flags.

They gonna hold Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson every play you can count on it and not a one will be called you can count on that too.  And there is no such thing as a pick when those Bammer receivers are running crossing routes you can count on that too.  No doubt Auburn will have to beat Bammer and the striped shirts on Saturday.   No way they are gonna let Auburn take out the playoff insurance policy (last hope of still getting 2 in assuming LSU beats UGA) and that’s what Bammer is as of today.

I'm not one who usually falls in line with the referee thing, but after watching a lot of games this year, it's become obvious that either the refs are downright stupid, or are favoring one team over the other. The LSU-AU game this year was just too obvious with all the missed holding calls by LSU OL, until that last one when they got to run off 10 seconds and basically ended the game (however, I do want to state that I truly believe that if AU had a decent offense in that game, AU could have won it despite the missed calls).  Last year's Iron Bowl, when our RB scored that first TD and out came a flag for holding that even Gary Danielson, who's quite the Bama ass-kisser, even said that call was very questionable. The league has got to do something about this, but I doubt they will as long as Bama and Saban rule the roost in the SEC.

It seems like there are only about 10 SEC referees. I see the same ones with the same smug look on their face in any SEC game of significance. And I’m increasingly convinced they hang out in Gary Danielson’s suite after the game, collecting their checks. I’m praying CBS loses the SEC contract because of that pompous rear end.

It's all about the money.....and league reputation which go together.

It began a few years into the BCS. I don’t know who thought it through enough to realize a call here or there and a non-call here and there could be the difference in a close game.   Saban’s LSU team was a big benefactor. Our 2010 team and 2013 were also benefactors of favorable officiating.  UAT has by far been the biggest benefactor because they are a huge cash cow for the SEC and the NCAA.  Until somebody in the SEC office or on an officiating crew admits there is an unspoken mandate, nothing can or will be done.

Nothing will ever be done about it. It makes me like college football a little less every year, but it's the world we live in. What I would really like to see is Gus grow a pair and actually go ahead and bring it up this week. Just a remark to watch Derrick Brown and Davidson to see how many times that are held during the game and it doesn't get called. Bring it to the forefront before the game so it will be a topic of discussion when it happens. Gus wont do it though. Not smart enough and too skeered to do it.

You must be young. It’s been going on for a long time. There are reasons that we didn’t play bammer for many years and officiating is one of them. What makes it worse today is that there’s replay and they still get it wrong. This tells me that some of the B.S. officiating is on purpose. How does a team go an entire season without an offensive holding call?

I did see some of our players call it out. However, I would hope that it would be of some benefit to briefly mention to the team that they should remember to make every down count as the referees are there to keep the favored team in control. All it takes is a short review of "game changing" calls that were either made (nor not made) to the favor of especially LSU and UGA in our games this season. It is sad and the old story still holds true...you have to score enough to beat the favored team and the refs!

We all saw without much effort that there was the basic "throwdown" holding call in our UGA game this year on their first long TD pass. Our defensive lineman is pinned to the grass in a wrestling hold and not one of the professional refs could see it. Everyone saw it except the ones paid to watch for it.

The refs can't probably penalize him Tuesday during his presser. BUT, I am sure the ones that show up dressed in stripes would remember when the game starts Saturday.

I would love love love it if CBS ever lost the choice TV game contract. I cannot stand him.

Or better yet bring good loud metal whistle to sound at the appropriate times during Bama offensive possessions.
