When do the bowls make their selections?

The big bowls will be announced at the final playoff rankings show, on ESPN at 11:00 central time tomorrow. I'm not certain how soon after that the other ones will be finalized and named.

Minnesota in the Outback is trending big now. Utah getting blasted last night hurt us for a more attractive matchup as Penn St or Wisky will likely et the Cotton Bowl at large bid.

Why Wisconsin? Could see penn st but I’m thinking we should be ahead of Wisconsin in the rankings tomorrow..... at least I hope:)

@BJCrawford Because they played Ohio St tight most of the way & dominated part of the game, something no other team did this season. There's actually talk of Wisky staying ahead of Penn St. when rankings come out tomorrow & there is evidence to support it. Wisky is 3-2 vs CFP top 25 teams while Penn St is 2-2. Wisky beat Minnesota while Penn St. didn't. And Wisky has a good bit better SOS.

Media prediction of AU vs Memphis in Cotton would have us edging out Bama for final New Year 6 bowl...almost too much salt in their wound to hope for.

Bama is going to the citrus bowl instead of us because they haven’t been there since 2010.

Don't like a Memphis/AU matchup.  Regardless of their record and ranking and how many of our guys sit this one out Gus would get hammered if we lost. Of course he'd likely get trashed if we lost a squeaker to OSU. Here's hoping for a sunshine state bowl. Good reward for players and fans.

Both ESPN predictions have us going Outback vs Minnesota. Not too bad except the deadly (for Auburn) early kick off

And the guaranteed monsoon.

It was also a cold rain too when we played Northwestern there. Funny that the Tampa area should have rain when most of South Florida is in the dry season.

One of those B1G teams is going to the Rose Bowl, probably Wisconsin. There's some wiggle room for AU to move to the NY6, but not much. I think we'd have been in had UGA won the SEC. That would have taken them out of the Sugar and put UF there, leaving more room for us.

Yeah, that was my thought too. Made for...interesting rooting yesterday.

As to the second sentence, my understanding is there's 3 teams for 1 spot in the Cotton Bowl likely vs Memphis: Auburn, Utah, and Penn St. Most projections have Penn St going.

I don't really want to play Memphis in the Cotton, so I'm glad we're not trending that way.  Michigan or Minnesota somewhere in Florida sounds ideal.

I was rooting for UGA to either win because of AU's bowl situation, or get blown out. At least we got the blowout.

I can never root for UGA to win at any sport, no matter the implications of how it might possibly help Auburn.

I remember that first Outback Bowl against JoePa and ChoMo Sandusky in a driving rain. It was our first Bowl in a while due to NCAA sanctions. Maybe the 1996 Outback Bowl? Some fullback with a pornstache tore us a new one in the mud that game.

I want the Cotton vs Memphis/Cincinatti. The easiest path to 10 wins, and a NY6 bowl over Bama. Would be a great ending. Dont give a rip about beating Michigan in the Outback Bowl.

Should be in NY6. There is no argument that Oregon, Utah, and Wisconsin should be ranked ahead of Auburn. All have a bad loss and don’t have but 1 or 2 quality wins. Auburn has 2-3 quality wins, no bad losses, and has the best win out of all of those teams. Maybe Penn State because they have no bad losses and a few good wins, but the three teams I mentioned initially, if the cfp committee looks at this objectively, have no reason they should be ranked ahead of auburn.

So what has to happen for us to get in the Cotton Bowl? Surely Utah after getting drubbed by Oregon on a Neutral Field will fall behind us right? Cotton Bowl vs Memphis sounds a heck of a lot better than Outback vs Minny. This would of been the third time we have been to the Outback in a decade if it does end up being that bowl.
