Final regular season rankings

Here's how the final regular season (pre-Bowl) rankings shake out:

-AU & Bama tied at #9 in AP

-Bama at #9 & AU at #13 in Coaches' Poll

-AU at #12 & Bama at #13 in the final playoff ranking

If AU beats Minnesota, that should guarantee they get ranked over Bama at the very end in all the polls.  Probably hasn't happened since 2013?

If bama beats Michigan and we beat Minnesota, bama will be put above us.

Sad but true.

(Because there's not a better thread to post this in)

The CFP so far has been extremely lucky. If it had existed in the BCS era they would have had to make so many decisions that would have been harder than any they've had to make. Seriously, 1998 would have been an absolute nightmare. Tennessee and FSU would be in, but you had KSU and UCLA undefeated until the final weekend, you had tOSU who was arguably the best team for most of the year but with an atrocious loss to 6-6 Michigan State, and TAMU who was 11-2 and conference champs over KSU, with one of those losses was a pre-season kickoff game (to FSU)--should they have been punished for playing that pre-season game?

There would have been mass riots in two of West LA, Manhattan, Columbus and College Station.

I think they will curb stomp Michigan.

They might have concerns about motivation, too, but Jones will be auditioning for next year's starting gig and those receivers could sleepwalk through any Big 10 defense outside of Columbus.

Exactly the problem with CFP. Somehow most years so far have been pretty easy decisions, but imagine if UGA, Utah, and Baylor won last week (not even mentioning the idea of Wisconsin winning). They’d have to pick among

SEC champ UGA

12-1 LSU

ACC champ Clemson

B1G champ OSU
PAC champ Utah

B12 champ Baylor

That’s a no-win situation, and even though we happen to have avoided disaster happening this year, there’s no doubt this 4 team playoff is gonna screw some teams over eventually (Penn State the year OSU got in over them and get slaughtered by Clemson comes to mind...)

Noticed Saban had his team at #5, after losing the only 2 quality games he had this year.

Well then he must have had us in top 4 then since we beat them....  bwahahahahaha
