It's amazing how many kids sign during this. They should just change the name to National Signing Day and name the later one as "Late Signing Day". We'll have at least 20 done (with JJ) and maybe 23 if we land all three targets (looking like 2 out of three). We'll only have 2-3 spots left and that's not including Buskey.

Not sure but he visited us twice in November and once last January

We will definitely have the speed needed.....Pappoe, Steiner, McClain and Tisdol are freakish athletes. Honestly....We upgraded this year from D. Davis and Williams with the group we had.....it may be another upgrade when Britt and Wooten are gone with the guys we are bringing in. T-Will needs a massive contract!!! DC in waiting

@ellitor Is there any chance of Tisdol not qualifying? IIRC weren't there some concerns around grades and that's why we came late to the party? Just Curious if that is a concern.

Just wondering how many of the late signees are taking a risk that their choices will be reduced by Feb.    Seems that many schools are filling up and maybe saving only a few slots for late arrivals or JUCOs. 

Guess if you are a 5* there is always a way.....but some lesser recruits might get shut out?   or not ?

No. clue but haven't heard any concerns in a while. I don't think AU would take him right now if they were concerned. My guess is AU got & liked his fall semster grades.

Can someone clarify the difference in our "Buck" and a typical DE? Is it just a terminology thing? Is Buck just a DE that is more for Pass Rushing? 

I guess I don't get why we call it a Buck like it's something different than a normal DE. I would understand if they lined up a traditional LB spot every now and then but they seem to just be a WDE.

It's actually the opposite. Most if not all teams have at least 1 signee spot left with at least 1 or more needs in February so the kids who wait to sign in February become much more valuable & sought after. Roger McCreary for example was committed to South Alabama but AU pushed for & landed him in February. Tennessee came after him hard too.

Technically it's a LB/DE hybrid where, depending on the front, the player is on the line or off. Typically, we're almost always using the Buck as a pass rush specialist.
