Seems to me that he was the perfect storm of a terribly immature young man that was put into a self-destructive position (success/fame/money/drugs and all the other trappings) before he was equipped to handle it. His parents were pretty much a disaster, didn't help him with his shortcomings at all. I would assume there are a lot of pro athletes who are in a similar circumstance but don't have the compulsion to take somebody's life . The Hernandez story is just gut wrenching.
