Clearly that bat swipe meant something to the ump that it didn't mean to me.  But I think Mr. D'Andrea is wrong when he states "Players argue balls and strikes all the time".  Maybe in the bigs, but I don't think it happens in college ball.

Players will swipe the dirt where they believe the strike zone is after a call they think is questionable. But to me it looked like the kid wasn't intending it to be disrespectful. He was confused by the ejection.

IIRC ....Will Holland was a player who questioned calls or made his displeasure known to the home plate officials, and so did Julien a time or two.
