How much does that hurt our brand if true? Still TBD.

Not TBD. It doesn't. As long as Bruce is here & we don't have multiple years of missing the Tourney then our brand is in good shape. Also 1 rebuilding year will not hurt our brand.

Jon Rothstein doesn’t even have us in his preseason top 45 for next year.

That's completely understandable because as things are we have at least 3 roster spots to fill.. Not being in his top 45 also shouldn't be seen as a concern either.

As good as we’ve been the last 3 years, we still don’t have the brand to get respect yet

That has nothing to do with us not being in his top 45. As it is now we are losing our top 6 most productive players. Of the remaining 7 only 3-4 have shown flashes of good to great things.

Getting these seniors would likely vault us into the preseason top 10.

True but that in itself doesn't do anything for our brand.

f we close out this recruiting class like we are hoping AND get these seniors back, we will have a HUGE advantage going into next year.

I don't think so. Everybody else would get their seniors back too. I can see granting another year to players in the spring sports. Doing this with basketball doesn't make any sense at all. There are a lot of problems that would pop up. How would any coach keep a roster of +_ 18 players engaged and happy?

I think giving another year to basketball players because a minority of them might have played in tournaments is a bad idea.

Bruce is our brand. We are just fine from a branding perspective even if we have a rebuilding year next year - - which should be expected after losing 5 seniors plus your best player.

No team is going to get preseason love for that, 6 of our 9 rotation players are leaving us. That's just not gonna get a lot of buzz. If we get Green and any other elite prospect that'll help in those rankings though.

If this happens then all of the incoming recruits would be screwed. It might lead to some lesser teams getting players they normally wouldn’t be able to get.

Or in our example, be the difference in Jalen Green coming to Auburn or going pro instead

Looks like the NCAA is going to grant eligibility relief to the spring sports but not the winter sports.

That seems fair. Winter sports were basically finished in their regular seasons. This could really help us in softball if the girls stay. Although softball players usually are not that interested in an extra year it seems

probably depends on whether they have any schooling left to finish, or if they can afford to stay in school on such a limited scholarship for another year. Then you have those softball junkie players that can't get enough...
