I was getting very down & cranky about.....let's just call them "the things of this world" that I'm sure some have been disappointed in me (as I was in myself) and perhaps even written me off.

I don't think a single person who knows you or knows who you are would be disappointed in you or given up on you. You have people praying for you because they love you. All people, like athletes , go through slumps. The slump doesn't define you. It's the batting average that gets you in the Hall of Fame. 🙏

I'm just checking in on you Nathan. Sounds like you are tolerating the treatment pretty well. We won't give up on you ever, or get disappointed in you either. You're working through a rough patch, and we all understand that. We will support you 100% until you are completely healed. You don't need to be worried about that!

Good luck with the blog! Sounds like a great idea.

Thank you Belle!!!!

So far, so good is an understatement.

Obviously, I won't know if it's actually fighting the cancer for a few weeks but as for tolerating.... I'm honestly wondering if one of the ingredients is powdered energy!  My wife is loving the fact that she hasn't had to even look at laundry & dishes in days!

If this keeps up, even if it doesn't kill the cancer, I may try to keep taking it anyway!!

Wow! I'm happy to hear that you're not experiencing unpleasant side effects! Here comes the honey-do list.....

Hey brother.

It's come to my attention that in many of my posts over the last few....months, I suppose, that I have come off combative and even persecutorial (if that's a word).

So, I do sincerely apologize to any who read this, that I have offended.  I am truly sorry.

God bless you all!  ....and I'm sorry for the times that I've hurt my witness.  Lord, please forgive me!

All the best,

Nathan

Not. In. The. Least. Light and darkness. Yes. Combative? No. (Others have, though. Message board under COVID19 has the best and the worst under a microscope. Time for grace, but don't own what 72 doesn't need to own.)

Press on. Focus your strength on the new things birthing! Rooting like "cray" and praying, brother!

I've seen combative on here and you are definitely not that. As for hurting your witness, don't you worry about that either. There is a not so fine line between publicizing your faith and appearing too preachy to some. You hold yourself to certain standards and a certain lifestyle. That's your goal. If you slip up then you correct course and keep going. We aren't perfect. When we act like we are we turn others off. In my opinion your witness is more believable for others if they see that they aren't the only one who struggles. We do make mistakes, it's just important not to keep making the same ones over and over. You have NEVER given that impression to anyone. Nothing but respect.

Don't be surprised if you get credit for thoughts & quotes when I start my blog.

Thank you brother.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, though I "personally" don't know any of y'all, some of y'all are definitely considered Best Friends.  I still hope to personally meet & give you a big ol bear hug!

Hi JapanTiger.

Thanks for checking in.  The best thing is, as always, prayer.  Honestly, I am feeling better than I have in years!!

That's not to say my neuropathy and physical pain are gone (but they are very much more bearable with treatments) but I have been overwhelmed the last several days with an incredible sense of well being.....and even peace.

I'm going to say it... I've been washed by The Holy Spirit!  On Mother's Day, it hit me like a nuclear bomb!!!  I've never, in my life....even when I was saved, felt what I felt that day.  I'm even going through the process of figuring out how to start my own blog.  Thoughts, feelings, stories (not necessarily even all of a strictly Christian nature) have been flooding my mind, especially in quiet moments.  It's truly AMAZING!!!

I don't mind "announcing it here first", so to speak, because I have received SO MUCH love & support from SO MANY posters on this site even though, for a while, I was getting very down & cranky about.....let's just call them "the things of this world" that I'm sure some have been disappointed in me (as I was in myself) and perhaps even written me off.  STILL I am receiving so much prayer and support I am constantly overwhelmed with beautiful emotion!!!

Sorry if this rambles a bit.  No....coffee....yet....

I truly LOVE y'all!!!!

God bless!

Nathan

Glad to hear things are going as well as can be right now.  Neuropathy, etc., are tough to live with.  One of those things most don't know about the treatments.  Glad to hear that you are in a good place.  As for your admissions and personal concerns, sounds like you've been human 🙂.  Forgive yourself.  I don't think anyone on here is thinking anything about it; or ever noticed what convicts you; in the 1st place.  Would gladly read your blog if you get that far.  Here's to watching Gus's last year at Auburn this fall.

Thanks, as always, for the kind words!

As for the bolded, that's actually a great point and I realize I'm all over the place this week.  It's hard to explain, to many, the revelation that's come over me (and hopefully, eventually, the positive transformation) over the last week but I certainly don't mean to act like I'm so important that everyone hangs on my posts.  I realize I ain't all that, and it ain't all about me.

But to those who DO care, I thank you and appreciate your bearing with me.

@AUsince72, you are showing yourself to be what you truly are, a big ol' softie, with a good and pure heart. Like I said before, there are times people have disagreed with you, but you've never been mean to anyone. I am happy that you are in a spirit-filled place right now. He's gonna bring you through it and you are tuned in! Prayers for you are on-going. Virtual Hugs!

Hard to believe, but some of us care more about you than even football! haha

You are fighting the good fight and I pray that the  Lord above will heal you and strengthen you and your family. Hang in there brother and please let me know if I can help in any way. Take care my friend.

Hi friends.

I'm not looking or asking for anything.  I've got so many praying for me, I'm truly so blessed!

Simply a PSA here...

Due to my cancer, and in this case my treatments, I have peripheral problems that can cause infection.  I went into sepsis the Sunday before last and fought pain & fevers until they finally got me figured out and went into emergency surgery late Thursday night.  I got out of the hospital late Saturday night but have to self-administer antibiotic IVs 3x per day at least until I see the Dr tomorrow and then maybe beyond.

Moral....sepsis ain't fun.  If you have a reason to think you might or could have it, learn the symptoms.  Literally 'bout killed me last week.

God bless y'all!

War Eagle!!!

EDIT:  (Correction) I did not go into sepsis Mem Day Weekend as it turns out my blood cultures that Tues showed no infection.  However, sometime between Tues & Thu, I DID go into sepsis.  Sorry for the confusion.

There are a lot of people on here that believe in the power of prayer so please keep @AUsince72 (Nathan) and his family in your thoughts and prayers. I won't go into detail and I certainly hope he doesn't mind me bringing this to your attention but he is my favorite poster on this board and I couldn't lie down tonight without reaching out to everyone. May God bless Nathan and his family and that they feel His love and comfort. Praying also for the doctors, nurses, specialists and techs in all that they do each and every day for so many.

🙏🙏

Thanks Loof.  Yeah, started having fevers late Sat/early Sun and didn't know what to make of it.  Luckily the Dr on call Sunday at the GI Surgery center was top notch!  Called in an oral antibiotic and my wife got there 5 mins to spare (this was Memorial Day weekend afterall).  Saw him Tues and he could tell it wasn't good, scanned Thursday STAT and they almost immediately called us back and said emergency surgery.   Then, to top it off, apparently I reacted on the table, they gave me something (still unclear what) that tanked my BP and I almost died right there.  But apparently I'm a pretty tough dude as I recovered very quickly and enough to come home.

Plus, add Coach Dye's passing saddens me and it's been a tough week+.
